Acarology

Acarology (Greek akari, armor. acarus – a tick + Greek logos – the doctrine) – one of sections of zoology which studies ticks, including their role as carriers of an infection and parasites, wreckers of foodstuff and plants. Also the acarology develops methods of protection against mites.
