Anacrotism

Anacrotism (Greek ana-(prefix) – returnable action, action strengthening + Greek krotos – blow) – rise in an initial part of the sphygmogram which reflects stretching of a wall of large arteries and an aorta at increase at the time of a systole of arterial pressure.
