Lekor

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: нифуроксазид; 1 capsule contains 0,2 g of a nifuroksazid; excipients: sucrose, lactose anhydrous, starch corn, talc, magnesium stearate.

Pharmacological properties:

Lekor — antimicrobic drug of group of nitrofuran which is used at intestinal infections. Drug brakes activity of dehydrogenases and breaks protein synthesis in pathogenic bacteriums, shows bactericidal action. Drug is active concerning the majority of causative agents of intestinal infections, including the strains mutants steady against other antimicrobic means.  Staphylococcus spp are sensitive to drug., Escherichia spp., Citrobacter spp., Enterobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Yersinіa spp., and also  Vibrio spp. Lekor shows also activity concerning some protozoa: Entamoeba hystolytica, Blastocystis hominis, Trychomonas vaginalis. In therapeutic doses practically does not break balance of a simbiotny bacterial flora of a large intestine, does not promote development of resistant strains of pathogenic microorganisms, does not cause cross other antimicrobic drugs resistance of bacteria that allows to appoint, in case of need, it in complex therapy with system antimicrobic drugs at generalized and heavy infections. Drug works in an intestines gleam, is not absorbed, creating high local concentration of active ingredient. It is completely removed with a stake. Speed of removal of drug depends on the accepted dose and peristaltic activity of digestive tract.

Indications to use:

Diarrhea of an infectious etiology at children and adults, acute and chronic coloenterites of an infectious etiology, a syndrome of a disbioz of intestines, and also as a component of dekontaminatsionny therapy before surgical interventions on abdominal organs.

Route of administration and doses:

To adults and children 6 years are more senior appoint on 1 capsule 4 times a day, irrespective of meal. The maximum daily dose — 800 mg. The course of treatment averages 3-6 days.

Features of use:

Use during pregnancy or feeding by a breast. Teratogenic and embriotoksichesky influence during use of a nifuroksazid was not registered, but due to the lack of enough observations Lekor's use during pregnancy is possible only when the expected advantage for mother exceeds potential risk for a fruit. As system absorption of Lekor is minimum or is absent, drug is not emitted in breast milk therefore it can be applied during feeding by a breast.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of motor transport or work with other mechanisms. Lekor does not influence the speed of psychomotor reactions.

Children. Lekor in the form of capsules is shown for treatment of children 6 years are more senior.

Appropriate precautionary measures. At treatment of diarrhea performing rehydration therapy is obligatory (as a rule, orally, in more hard cases — parenterally). Drug is not appointed as monotherapy for treatment of intestinal infections of heavy degree or complicated by sepsis as Lekor is not soaked up in intestines and does not get to a blood stream. At treatment by Lekor it is not necessary to take alcohol because of a possibility of development of disulfiramopodobny reaction.

Side effects:

Drug is usually well transferred. Persons with hypersensitivity to derivatives of nitrofuran can have allergic reactions, as a rule, skin type. In exceptional cases, as well as at use of other nitrofuran derivatives, there can be heavy reactions of hypersensitivity, including a Quincke's disease and an acute anaphylaxis. In these cases it is necessary to provide passability of respiratory tracts, to appoint adrenaline, intravenous infusion of liquid, glucocorticoids.

Interaction with other medicines:

Lekor is not recommended to accept together with sorbents, and also with drugs containing alcohol.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to components of drug and derivatives 5 nitrofurans.

Overdose:

Cases of overdose are not described. In case of overdose it is recommended to cancel drug, to wash out a stomach and to carry out symptomatic therapy.

Storage conditions:

Period of validity — 2 years. It is forbidden to use drug after the termination of term of its validity. The deadline of the validity is specified on packaging after the words "Use to …"

To store at a temperature not above +25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children.
