Retinoic ointment

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 0,05 g or 0,1 g of an izotretinoin.

Excipients: butyl hydroxytoluene, butylhydroxyanisole, wax emulsion, a liquid paraffin, глицерол (glycerin), ethanol (alcohol) of 95%, water cleared.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Izotretinoin represents one of biologically active forms of vitamin A. It brakes a terminal differentiation of sebotsit and hyper proliferation of an epithelium of output channels of sebaceous glands, normalizes structure of their secret and facilitates its evacuation. At the expense of it production of skin fat decreases and inflammatory reaction around glands decreases.

Ointment has anti-seborrheal, antiinflammatory, keratolytic effect, strengthens processes of regeneration in skin.

Indications to use:

Eels ordinary, seborrheal dermatitis, rozatse, perioral dermatitis.

Route of administration and doses:

Ointment is applied a thin layer on affected areas of skin by 2 times a day. Treatment duration – 4-12 weeks. The repeated course of treatment is possible after consultation with the doctor.

Features of use:

Pregnancy and lactation. It is not recommended to apply on extensive sites of skin at pregnancy, feeding with a breast and to the women planning pregnancy.

It is not recommended to apply ointment on skin around eyes, and also at the expressed acute inflammation. It is impossible to apply on mucous membranes. During treatment it is necessary to avoid stay in the sun, if necessary to resort to use of sun-protection means, preventive and medical use of ultraviolet rays and visit of a sunbed is not recommended.

Drug does not influence ability to drive the car and to perform the works demanding the increased concentration of attention.

Side effects:

On the second week of treatment reaction of an aggravation – emergence of new rashes, an itch, reddening and a peeling of skin is possible. At sharply expressed reaction it is recommended to stop treatment for several days before its subsiding.

In some cases at individual sensitivity in the first – the second day of use spotty and papular rashes, an itch and puffiness develop. In such cases it is necessary to cancel drug.

At prolonged use development of symptoms of a chronic hypervitaminosis is possible And (a cheilitis, conjunctivitis, dryness and a peeling of skin).

Interaction with other medicines:

It is not necessary to appoint ointment the patient receiving other drugs from group of retinoids to reduce risk of emergence of a hypervitaminosis And.

Effect of ointment is weakened at simultaneous topical administration of glucocorticosteroids.

Contraindications:

To apply with care at chronic diseases of a liver, kidneys, chronic pancreatitis, a decompensation of cordial activity.

Storage conditions:

At a temperature from 2 to 8 °C. Not to allow freezing. To store in the place, unavailable to children. A period of validity - 2 years. Not to use after a period of validity.
