General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 200 mg of Sodium sulfacetamidum in 1 ml of solution.

Excipients are Natrium thiosulfuricum pentahydrate, water for injections, Acidum hydrochloricum (1 M solution) – to pH 8,0.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Sulfacetamidum natricum belongs to group of streptocides (antimicrobic means). At a konyyuktivita drug has bacteriostatic and antimicrobic action, is active in relation to gram-positive and gram-negative cocci, Shigella spp., Clostridium perfringens, Vibrio cholerae, Bacillus anthracis, Yersinia pestis, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Chlamidia spp., Toxoplasma gondii, Actinomyces israelii, Escherichia coli.

Pharmacokinetics. At topical administration of drops in moisture of an anterior chamber (0,5 mg/ml), an iris of the eye (0,1 mg/ml) and in an eye cornea (3mg/ml) effect of drug begins within the first 30 minutes after application.

In fabrics of eyeglobes within 3-4 hours a drug quantity (about 0,5 mg/ml) remains. In cases when on a cornea of an eye there are damages, the penetration of active agent increases.

Indications to use:

It is applied to treatment of a blepharitis, a konyyuktivit, a purulent helcoma and other diseases of eyes, to treatment and prevention of a blennorea and Chlamidia diseases of eyes.

Route of administration and doses:

Sulfacylum-natrium dig in in konyyuktivalny bags from 4 to 6 times per day 1-2 drops. For prevention of a blennorea at children after the birth use 2 drops every 2 hour.

Features of use:

Use during pregnancy and a lactation. On doctor's orders Sulfacetamidum natricum is used in therapeutic doses at a konyyuktivita if the expected effect of use of drug is higher, than risk of development of diseases. There is no sufficient experience of use during these periods.

In relation to active agent of drug people with hypersensitivity to thiazide diuretics, furosemide and sulphonylurea, and also karboangidraza inhibitors can have hypersensitivity.

Side effects:

Eye drops can cause gripes, an itch in eyes, dacryagogue, allergic reactions, burning.

Interaction with other medicines:

Use with silver salts is contraindicated. Use together with pantocain and Procainum leads to decrease in bacteriostatic effect.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to separate components of eye drops.

Storage conditions:

Sulfacylum-natrium it is stored in the place protected from light at a temperature from 8 °C to 20 °C. After opening 38 days are stored. The medicine period of validity in packaging makes 2 years. Use of drops after a period of validity is contraindicated.

Is issued in the polyethylene bottles with a capacity of 5 ml and 10 ml which are hermetically closed traffic jams droppers and covers. Each separate bottle has cardboard packaging and the application instruction. Also packagings on 50 bottles with 50 instructions in a cardboard box are issued.
