General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent: betagistina of dihydrochloride of 8 mg or 16 mg. Excipients:  K90 povidone, cellulose microcrystallic, lactose monohydrate, silicon dioxide colloid, кросповидон, the stearic acid, water purified (does not contain in ready drug).
Description. Oval tablets with slanted edges, white or almost white color, with marking of "B8" (for tablets with a dosage of 8 mg) and "B16" (for tablets with a dosage of 16 mg) on the one hand.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. The synthetic analog of a histamine, has histamine-like and vazodilatiruyushchy effect. Is a weak agonist of I1 receptors and quite powerful antagonist of H3 receptors. Influences a cochlear blood stream and the central vestibular mechanism. Action of a betagistin includes: a vazodilatation in an inner ear (indirectly through NZ and H1 receptors), the inhibiting effect concerning vestibular nuclei (through NZ receptors) and pulse activity of ampullar receptors. By direct agonistic impact on H1 receptors of vessels of an inner ear and the precapillary sphincters of a microcirculator bed located in a vascular stripe (stria vascularis) and also indirectly through NZ-receptors improves microcirculation and permeability of capillaries, normalizes endolymph pressure in a labyrinth and a snail, increases a blood stream in a basilar artery. Has the expressed central effect, being an antagonist of NZ-receptors of kernels of a vestibular nerve, normalizes neyronalny transfer in polisinaptichesky neurons of vestibular nuclei at the level of a brain trunk. Indirectly influencing NZ-receptors, increases the content of the serotonin reducing  activity of vestibular nuclei in a brain trunk. Promotes elimination of disturbances as from the vestibular, and cochlear device: reduces the frequency and intensity of dizzinesses, reduces a sonitus, promotes improvement of hearing in cases of its decrease. Stimulates H1 - receptors therefore does not render sedation and does not cause drowsiness.

Pharmacokinetics. Communication with proteins of plasma - low is absorbed quickly. Sshakh (the maximum concentration in a blood plasma) is 3 h. It is almost completely removed by kidneys in the form of a metabolite (2-pyridylacetic acid) during the 24th p. T1/2 (elimination half-life) - 3 - 4 h.

Indications to use:

Edema of a labyrinth of an inner ear, vestibular and labyrinth disturbances: dizziness, noise and ear pain, headache, nausea, vomiting, decrease in hearing; vestibular neuritis, a labyrinthitis, benign position dizziness (including after neurosurgical operations), Menyer's disease. As a part of complex therapy - vertebrobazilyarny insufficiency, posttraumatic encephalopathy, atherosclerosis of vessels of a brain.

Route of administration and doses:

Inside, during food, without chewing, washing down with a small amount of liquid, 8-16 mg 2-4 times a day. Prolonged treatment.

Features of use:

The therapeutic effect in some cases appears only several months later from an initiation of treatment.

Side effects:

Dyspepsia (nausea, vomiting), skin rash, Quincke's edema.

Interaction with other medicines:

Antihistaminic drugs reduce effect of administration of drug.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity, pheochromocytoma, bronchial asthma, peptic ulcer of a stomach and duodenum in an aggravation phase, pregnancy (the I trimester). With care the Peptic ulcer of a stomach or a 12-perstny gut (in the anamnesis), pregnancy (P-Sh a trimester), children's age.

Overdose:

Symptoms: headache, dermahemia of the person, dizziness, tachycardia, decrease AP (arterial pressure), bronchospasm.

Storage conditions:

In the dry, protected from light place at a temperature not above 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children! Period of validity 3 years. Not to use after the period of validity specified on packaging.
