Betagistin

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 8 mg, 16 mg or 24 mg of a betagistin in 1 tablet.

The drug having the histamine-like, improving microcirculation effect.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Blocks disintegration of an endogenous histamine and normalizes neyronalny transmission in polisinaptichesky neurons of side kernels of a vestibular nerve at the level of the bridge of a trunk part of a brain, inhibits diaminoxidase, influences precapillary sphincters, increases a precapillary blood stream.

Pharmacokinetics. It is quickly and fully absorbed from a GIT. Cmax is reached by the third o'clock. Linkng with proteins of plasma low. Passes gistogematichesky barriers and gets into fabrics. Is exposed to biotransformation: the most part turns into 2-pyridyl-acetic acid. It is almost completely removed with urine during 24 h.

Influences, mainly, histamine H1-and H3 receptors of an inner ear and vestibular nuclei of TsNS. Improves microcirculation and permeability of capillaries of an inner ear, increases a blood stream in basilar arteries, normalizes endolymph pressure in a labyrinth and a snail. Reduces the frequency and intensity of dizziness, reduces a sonitus, improves hearing in case of its decrease. Stopping of acute vestibular frustration is reached within the first days, lasting clinical effect — after several months of therapy.

Indications to use:

Disease and Menyer's syndrome (including a sonitus and a hearing disorder), vestibular dizzinesses of various genesis (vertebrobazilyarny insufficiency, posttraumatic encephalopathy, atherosclerosis of vessels of a brain, vestibular neuritis, a labyrinthitis, benign position dizziness after neurosurgical operations).

Route of administration and doses:

Inside, on 8–16 mg 3 times a day. The dose and duration of reception are selected individually.

Features of use:

Use at pregnancy and feeding by a breast. The category of action on a fruit — is not determined by FDA.

It is necessary to be careful at treatment of patients with a peptic ulcer of a GIT (including in the anamnesis).

Side effects:

Gastrointestinal frustration (nausea, vomiting, heavy feeling in epigastriums, etc.), a headache, allergic reactions (skin rash, an itch, etc.).

Interaction with other medicines:

Efficiency is reduced by antihistaminic drugs.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity, round ulcer in an active phase, bronchial asthma, a pheochromocytoma, pregnancy (the I trimester), children's age.

Restrictions to use. A peptic ulcer of a GIT (in the anamnesis), pregnancy (II and the III trimester), breastfeeding.

Overdose:

Symptoms: headache, dermahemia of the person, dizziness, tachycardia.

Treatment: symptomatic.

Storage conditions:

To store at a temperature of 15-25 °C, in dry, protected from light and the place, unavailable to children. Period of validity 3 years. Not to use after the expiry date specified on packaging.

Packaging:

Tablets on 8 mg, 16 mg and 24 mg. On 10 tablets in each blister, on one, two or three blisters together with the application instruction in cardboard packaging.
