Kromofarm (drops)

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: cromoglicic acid;

1 ml of drug contains sodium of a kromoglikat in terms of 100% dry matter of 20 mg;

excipients: a benzalkoniya chloride, sodium chloride, dinatrium эдетат, polysorbate 80, sodium dihydrophosphate a dihydrate, dinatrium phosphate dodecahydrate, water for injections.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Antiallergic means, the stabilizer of membranes of mast cells, slows down release of a histamine, leukotrienes and other biologically active agents from mast cells. Suppresses migration of neutrophils, eosinophils, monocytes. Prevents allergic reactions of the immediate and slowed-down type after penetration of allergens.

Pharmacokinetics. At instillation in an eye it is badly soaked up in a system blood stream (0,03%), trace quantities (less than 0,01%) get into watery moisture and are completely removed within 1 days.

main physical and chemical properties: transparent colourless or slightly yellowish liquid.

Indications to use:

Prevention and treatment of acute and chronic allergic conjunctivitis, including hay conjunctivitis and spring keratoconjunctivitis.

Route of administration and doses:

To adults and children 4 years are more senior to dig in on 1 drop in each eye 4 times a day. In separate acute cases drug can be dug in more often − on 1 drop to 6-8 times a day. At improvement of a state the frequency of an instillation can be reduced. 

Treatment by drug Kromofarm needs to be continued before the termination of contact of the patient with allergen which caused a disease.

At seasonal allergic conjunctivitis treatment should be begun right after emergence of the first symptoms or to apply preventively before emergence of pollen.

Duration of use depends on a look and disease severity.

Attention! Prior to use densely not to screw up a cap! Before the first use the bottle cap is as much as possible screwed up. At the same time the thorn which is on the cap interior punctures an opening. Just before use it is necessary to take a bottle with drug in a palm to warm it to body temperature. The cap is unscrewed, removed and, slightly pressing on the bottle case, solution is dug in in an eye. After a drug instillation the cap is densely screwed up and store drug according to the recommendations specified in the instruction.

Features of use:

At an acute inflammation and in the period of an aggravation of chronic process drug should be used in combination with antihistamines or corticosteroids. The patient needs to be warned about need of regular use of drug. Treatment is begun before contact with allergen and continued throughout the entire period of effect of allergen.

At disturbance of integrity of a bottle, and also at solution opacification drug should not be used.

When using eye drops it is impossible to use soft contact lenses in connection with existence in structure a chloride benzalkoniya. Rigid contact lenses should be taken out from eyes just before an instillation of drops and to insert not earlier than in 15 minutes after drug use.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of motor transport or work with other mechanisms. For some time after an instillation in eyes it is necessary to abstain from performance of the work requiring special attention because of a possible short-term vision disorder.

Side effects:

Disturbances from organs of sight: the vision disorder, irritation of a mucous membrane of an eye, a conjunctiva hyperemia, feeling of a foreign body in an eye, dacryagogue, dryness, skin rash around eyes, a chemosis, a blepharitis, burning sensation and prickings in eyes which pass independently in 1-3 minutes and do not lead to pathological changes of a conjunctiva or clinically significant deviations.

At persons with hypersensitivity hypersensitivity reactions are possible.

Respiratory disturbances: диспноэ.

Eye drops contain in quality of preservative a benzalkoniya chloride which can cause side reaction in the form of hypersensitivity to this component and taste change.

At development of by-effects it is necessary to consult with the attending physician.

At prolonged use it is regularly necessary to control a functional condition of a liver and kidneys.

Interaction with other medicines:

Kromoglikat of sodium mutually strengthens effect of other antiallergic and antiasthmatic means: beta-adrenergic agonists, glucocorticoids, antihistamines and theophylline.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to sodium of a kromoglikat or to other components of drug. Children age up to 4 years.

Overdose:

Cases of overdose are not established, but at overdose strengthening of side reactions is possible. Symptomatic treatment.

Use during pregnancy and feeding by a breast.

 

Kromoglikat of sodium is excreted with breast milk in insignificant quantity therefore at use of drug during feeding by a breast the risk of harmful effects on children of early age minimum or is practically absent. However use of drug during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester, or during feeding by a breast is recommended only when the expected advantage for mother exceeds potential risk for a fruit or the child.

Children.

 

Not to apply to children under 4 years. Treatment by drug of children of 4 years perhaps only on doctor's orders.

Storage conditions:

Period of validity. 3 years. Not to use drug after the termination of the period of validity specified on packaging. After opening of a bottle drug is good within 28 days. To store in the place protected from light at a temperature from 15 °C to 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children.
