General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent: Cytisine of 1,5 mg

Other ingredients: lactoses monohydrate, cellulose microcrystallic, magnesium stearate, talc, опадрай the II brown 85F 26948.

Pharmacological properties:

Alkaloid the cytisine which is active component of drug has N-cholinomimetic activity. The effect of drug consists in excitement ганглиев the autonomic nervous system, initiation of breath in the reflex way, release of adrenaline of a medullary part of adrenal glands, increase in the ABP. The mechanism of effect of cytisine is close to the mechanism of effect of nicotine, but to much smaller toxicity and big therapeutic effect. Cytisine competitively suppresses interaction of nicotine with the corresponding receptors that leads to gradual reduction and disappearance of nicotine addiction.

Indications to use:

Табекс appoint at a chronic nicotinism for disaccustoming from smoking.

Route of administration and doses:

Pill of Tabeks is taken inside whole, washing down with enough liquid. Drug is used according to the following scheme: from 1st to the 3rd day — on 1 tablet each 2 h (6 tablets a day).
At the same time gradually reduce quantity of the smoked cigarettes.
If the result unsatisfactory, treatment stops and can be renewed in 2–3 months.
At positive effect therapy is continued according to such scheme:
from the 4th to the 12th day — on 1 tablet each 2,5 h (5 tablets a day);
from the 13th to the 16th day — on 1 tablet each 3 h (4 tablets a day);
from the 17th to the 20th day — on 1 tablet each 5 h (3 tablets a day);
from 21st to the 25th day — on 1–2 tablets a day.
Final smoking cessation has to come from the 5th day from an initiation of treatment. After completion of treatment the patient should show will power and not to allow himself to smoke any cigarette.

Features of use:

Табекс it is necessary to apply only if the patient has serious intention to refuse smoking. Use of drug and simultaneous smoking can lead to strengthening of side effects of nicotine (to nicotinic intoxication).
There is no sufficient clinical experience of use of Tabeks for patients with an ischemic heart disease, heart failure, AG, cerebrovascular diseases, obliterating arterial diseases, a hyper thyroidism, a round ulcer of a stomach, a diabetes mellitus, a renal or liver failure. These categories of patients drug should appoint only after careful assessment by the doctor of a ratio advantage/risk.
Due to the lack of clinical data on safety of use of drug of Tabeks it is not recommended to apply at children aged up to 18 years and at adults 65 years are aged more senior.
This medicine contains excipient lactose. There is a danger to persons with rare hereditary conditions of a lactose intolerance, a galactosemia or a glyukozo-galaktozny sprue therefore it is not necessary to use drug at this category of patients.
During pregnancy and feeding the breast does not recommend to use drug.
Children. Do not apply at children aged up to 18 years.
Ability to influence speed of response at control of vehicles or work with other mechanisms. Use of drug of Tabeks usually does not influence speed of response at control of vehicles or work with other mechanisms.
Considering that seldom sensitive patients at use of drug can have side reactions (drowsiness, dizziness, etc.), in an initiation of treatment it is necessary to refrain from control of vehicles and work with other mechanisms.

Side effects:

Drug is usually well transferred. Emergence of side effects from weak to moderate degree of manifestation is seldom possible. Most of them are shown in an initiation of treatment and disappear during treatment. Most often they are connected with nicotine addiction. The following disturbances are possible:
from cardiovascular system: tachycardia, slight increase of the ABP, palpitation;
from TsNS: headache, dizziness, sleeplessness, drowsiness, acrimony;
from respiratory system: диспноэ, asthma;
from a GIT: change of flavoring feelings and appetite, dryness in a mouth, abdominal pain, nausea, lock, diarrhea;
from a musculoskeletal system: mialgiya;
metabolism disturbances: a body degrowth, the increased sweating;
general disturbances: thorax pain.

Interaction with other medicines:

Табекс it is not necessary to apply combined from tuberkulostatika in connection with risk of strengthening of side effects.
At simultaneous use of drug of Tabeks with cholinomimetics and antikholinesterazny medicines strengthening of cholinomimetic side effects is possible.

Contraindications:

Табекс it is contraindicated at hypersensitivity to any of drug components, at an acute myocardial infarction, unstable stenocardia, cardiac arrhythmia, recently postponed cerebrovascular disease, atherosclerosis; during pregnancy and feeding by a breast. Relative contraindications for its use are some forms of schizophrenia, chromaffin tumors of adrenal glands, and also symptoms of a gastroesophageal reflux, children's age.

Overdose:

Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, expansion of pupils, general weakness, tachycardia, clonic spasms, breath paralysis.
Treatment: the gastric lavage, infusional administration of water-salt and glyukozosoderzhashchy solutions, use anticonvulsant drugs, cardiotonic, analeptical and other symptomatic means. Carry out monitoring of breath, the ABP and ChSS.
