General characteristics. Structure:

Main physical and chemical properties: liquid of red-brown color with a smell of iodine and an eucalyptus.
Active ingredient: 100 g of drug contain iodine 1 g.
Excipients: potassium iodide, an eucalyptus tincture, glycerin, the water purified.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Drug contains iodine which shows antimicrobic action on gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria,  including streptococci, staphylococcus, colibacillus. The mechanism of antimicrobic action is shown in a protein denaturation owing to interaction with N-groups of proteinaceous molecules.

Pharmacokinetics. Iodine from an organism preferential is emitted with kidneys, partially digestive tract, sweat and mammary glands.

Indications to use:

Quinsy is catarral, follicular, lacunary, inflammatory diseases of mucous membranes of a throat (an acute and adenoid disease; pharyngitis, glossitis), aphthous stomatitis.

Route of administration and doses:

To install the sprayer by situation up, to press a cap 1–2 times that solution arrived to the sprayer and after pressing it was sprayed. After to enter the sprayer on 2–3 cm into an oral cavity, to close a mouth, to hold the breath and to press 2 times a cap so that one irrigation was carried out to the right, the second — to the left. To use drug 1–2 times a day (with a break it is not less than 6 hours) after meal. Duration of use is caused by the nature of a disease, its expressiveness and is defined by the doctor.

Features of use:

Drug is not intended for intake. It is not necessary to inhale and/or swallow drug. With care to apply at laryngitis because of a possibility of a laryngospasm, at tuberculosis, hemorrhagic diathesis.

Side effects:

Drug can show irritant action. At hypersensitivity to iodine allergic reactions (an itch, a hyperemia, a small tortoiseshell) at which drug phase-out is necessary are possible.

Long use of drug can lead to an iodism (metal smack, the increased salivation, hypostases of eyes or a throat, a fluid lungs, skin rashes, disorder of digestive tract).

Interaction with other medicines:

 It is not recommended to combine drug with other means for disinfection of an oral cavity and a throat. Drug pharmacological is incompatible with ammonia.

Contraindications:

The increased individual sensitivity to iodine and other components of drug. Pregnancy and period of a lactation. Hyperfunction of a thyroid gland, a dekompensirovanny heart, renal failure, researches or therapy by a radioiodine (during the period in 2 weeks before and after the research or therapy). Children's age up to 8 years.

Overdose:

At the recommended topical administration of drug in oral cavities or throats overdose cases were not observed. However in case of a proglatyvaniye of solution development of acute poisoning is possible. At first metal smack in an oral cavity is felt, vomiting, a stomach ache and a diarrhea is possible. For 1–3 days the anury, glottis hypostasis with the following asphyxia, aspiratorny pneumonia or a fluid lungs is observed. In certain cases perhaps strong disturbance of blood circulation.

Treatment. Symptomatic treatment. To the patient allow to drink milk or the made starch. Carry out a gastric lavage. Besides, it is necessary to accept absorbent carbon and 1–5% Natrium thiosulfuricum solution. There is no specific antidote.

Storage conditions:

To store at a temperature of 8-15 °C, in protected from light and the place, unavailable to children. A period of validity — 3 years.
