Yodditserin

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 1 g of solution contains iodine 5 mg

excipients: dimethyl sulfoxide, glycerin, potassium iodide.

Pharmacological properties:

The antibacterial agent of a broad spectrum of activity having bactericidal, antiinflammatory, mestnoobezbolivayushchy effect. Antimicrobic and antiviral activity is connected with the identical mechanism of influence on surface polysaccharides, lipids and proteins of biopolymers of a cell wall of causative agents of different infections.

Bactericidal action of Yodditserina® extends on staphylococcus, streptococci, meningokokk, gonokokk, pneumococci, escherichias, including enteropathogenic, invasive and toxicogenic strains, salmonellas, klebsiyella, proteas, a seration, tsitrobakter, a hemophilic stick, pseudo-monads, fuzobakteriya, clostridiums, neklostridialny anaerobe bacterias, peptokokk, mycoplasmas, chlamydias, viruses of herpes, chicken pox.

Besides, the dimethyl sulfoxide (Dimexidum) is capable to ionize iodine molecules which have strong bactericidal effect on microorganisms directly in fabrics of the center of a purulent inflammation. 

Йоддицерин® it is quickly soaked up from a site of application and gets into tissues of the unimpaired skin and mucous membranes on depth caused by a dose of drug and time of its contact with a surface. Indications to use:

In surgery – for treatment of purulent wounds, burns, freezing injuries, purulent processes in soft tissues, gangrenes, pleurisy, peritonitis; in obstetrics and gynecology – for prevention of complications after abortion, for treatment of inflammatory processes, erosion, mastitis; in dermatology and venereology – at microbic and viral dermatitis, a pyoderma, herpes of lips and skin, trichomoniasis, gonorrhea; in a proctology at paraproctites in an infiltration stage; in otorhinolaryngology – at treatment of otitises, antritises, sinusitis; in stomatology – at stomatitis, an ulitis, a periodontal disease. It is effective at treatment of a bacteriocarrier in upper respiratory tracts.

Route of administration and doses:

Outwardly in the form of applications (compresses, bandages) apply 2-3 times a day for 20-30 minutes depending on the size of a suppurative focus 5-15 ml of Yodditserina® on all zone of the pyoinflammatory center.

Terms of treatment determine by time of full clarification of a wound surface, emergence of granulations and epithelization. Usually the course of treatment makes from 3 to 5 days.

At extensive or deep defeats of Yodditserinom® impregnate turundas, tampons or gauze bandages, impose them on purulent wounds or enter into wounds, bandage or fix by an adhesive plaster. If necessary the tampons or gauze bandages impregnated with drug cover from above with a polyethylene film for increase in antibacterial effect.

After removal of pus and washing by sterile normal saline solution or peroxide of hydrogen (depending on defeat center size) enter 5-10 ml of Yodditserina® solution into serous cavities, cavities of abscesses and drain for continuous outflow of contents. The procedure is repeated by 2-3 times a day before full clarification of a wound surface, emergence of granulations and epithelization.

Features of use:

Use during pregnancy or feeding by a breast. Use of drug during pregnancy and feeding by a breast contraindicated. In need of drug use breastfeeding should be stopped.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of motor transport or work with other mechanisms. The drug Yodditserin® does not influence speed of response at control of motor transport or work with other mechanisms.

Children. Not to use drug to children till 1 year.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions, pain in a site of application, a Quincke's disease are possible.

System reactions: the hyperthermia, at use on the big area of a wound surface and mucous membranes is possible a system reabsorption of iodine that it can cause a neutropenia, and also change results of tests of functional activity of a thyroid gland, the phenomenon of a hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism; at prolonged use (more than 7-10 days) the iodism phenomena are possible (cold, skin rashes as a small tortoiseshell, hypersalivation, metal smack in a mouth, dacryagogue);

Putting drug on big surfaces of wounds or heavy burns can cause the undesirable phenomena, for example changes of level of electrolytes (hypernatremia) and osmolarities of blood, a metabolic acidosis, a renal failure, an acute renal failure.

The dimethyl sulfoxide is usually well transferred, but at some patients emergence of an erythema, an itch, a xeroderma, easy burning, reddening on site of application, dizzinesses, sleeplessnesses, adynamias, dermatitis, diarrhea is possible. In certain cases at bad portability of a dimethyl sulfoxide nausea, desires to vomiting, a bronchospasm are noted.

Interaction with other medicines:

Strengthens penetration through skin of the medicines which are dissolved in a dimethyl sulfoxide (some non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, antibiotics, etc.) that leads to increase in their specific activity, and in some combinations and to increase in toxicity. Pharmaceutical it is incompatible with essential oils, ammonia solutions, white sedimentary mercury (explosive mix is formed).

At combined use with yellow mercury ointment formation of the mercuric iodide possessing the cauterizing action is possible.

Weakens hypothyroid and goitrogenic influence of drugs of lithium.

Йоддицерин® it is incompatible with other disinfecting and antiseptic agents which are especially containing alkalis, enzymes and mercury. In acid medium activity of drug decreases. At the use along with enzymatic drugs the last become inefficient. Йоддицерин® it is incompatible with the hydrogen peroxide, drugs containing silver. In cases of use by patients of drugs of lithium it is necessary to avoid regular use of Yodditserina®, especially on big surfaces as in this case iodine can cause hypofunction of a thyroid gland.

Йоддицерин® it is incompatible with the recovering substances, alkaloid salts and cationic antiseptic agents. The dimethyl sulfoxide strengthens effect of ethanol, insulin, drugs of a digitalis, Butadionum, antibiotics, quinidine, nitroglycerine, sensibilizes an organism to anesthetics.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to iodine and to any components of drug, a hyperthyroidism, adenoma of a thyroid gland, herpetiform dermatitis of Dyuringa, the period before therapy by a radioiodine, simultaneous use with a radioiodine, a liver and renal failure, a myocardial infarction, stenocardia, the expressed atherosclerosis, glaucoma, a cataract, a stroke, a coma.

Appropriate security measures at use

 

Before an initiation of treatment of Yodditserinom® carry out medicinal test on portability. For this purpose apply drug on skin of a forearm with a cotton plug. Emergence of a sharp itch, reddening and signs of an iodism testifies to hypersensitivity to drug.

Due to the danger of emergence of a corrosive burn under the influence of mercuric iodide it is impossible to use at the same time or right after reception of derivatives of mercury. In case of prolonged use of medicine it is necessary to carry out control of function of a thyroid gland periodically.

Overdose:

At overdose the iodism phenomena (metal smack in a mouth, cold, urticaria, dacryagogue, hypersalivation), burns, irritation of skin are possible. Therapy is symptomatic.

At accidental intake of large numbers (50-100 ml) of Yodditserina® vomiting, diarrhea and symptoms of intoxication develops. In these cases wash out a stomach of 0,5% Natrium thiosulfuricum solution. In hard cases intravenously enter 30% of solution of Natrium thiosulfuricum to 300 ml.

Storage conditions:

Period of validity 3 years. Not to use drug after the termination of the period of validity specified on packaging. To store in the place protected from light at a temperature not over 25 ºС. To store in the place, unavailable to children.
