General characteristics. Structure:

One suppository contains bisacodyl 10 mg.

Pharmacological properties:

Laxative drug. The mechanism of action is connected with increase in secretion of slime, acceleration and strengthening of a vermicular movement due to stimulation of sensitive nerve terminations in a mucous membrane of a large intestine. Has carminative effect. The effect develops within the first hour.

Indications to use:

The locks caused by hypotonia of a large intestine (at elderly patients, after surgery, childbirth). Regulation of a chair at hemorrhoids, a proctitis, proctal cracks, by preparation for surgical intervention, tool and X-ray inspections.

Route of administration and doses:

Having exempted suppository from a blister strip packaging, enter it into a rectum in the following dosages: The adult of 1 - 2 suppository in day; Children are 8-14 years-1 old suppository in day; To Children of 1 - 7 years-0,5 of suppository in day strictly on doctor's orders.

Features of use:

Not to use drug for a long time.

Side effects:

Intestinal colic and developing of diarrhea which can lead to considerable losses of liquid and electrolytes and, therefore, to development of muscular weakness, spasms, arterial hypotension is possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

Combined use with antacids can lead to premature dissolution of its cover and irritation of a stomach and a 12-perstny gut. It is not recommended to accept along with milk and alkaline mineral water.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug components, intestinal impassability, the restrained hernia, acute inflammatory diseases of abdominal organs, peritonitis, bleedings from zheludochno - an intestinal path, a metrorrhagia, cystitis, spastic locks, an acute proctitis, acute hemorrhoids, chest age.
