General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 500 mg of a glycosamine of sulfate, 400 mg of chondroitin of sulfate.

Excipients: cellulose microcrystallic, silicon dioxide colloid, talc, sodium of a kroskarmeloz, sodium is krakhmalglikolit, a gipromeloza, makrogol (PEG-6000), titanium dioxide, tartrazine, ethyl cellulose.

It is applied to treatment of a musculoskeletal system, at the posttraumatic and other states which are followed degenerative дистрофическимими by changes of joint fabric.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. The glycosamine stimulates regeneration of cartilaginous tissue. Fills up endogenous deficit of a glycosamine. Takes participation in biosynthesis of proteoglycans and hyaluronic acid, stimulates formations of chondroitinsulphuric acid, normalizes adjournment of calcium in a bone tissue, slows down progressing of degenerative processes in joints, promotes resuming of joint functions and elimination of a pain syndrome.

Chondroitin sulfate has hondroprotektorny action, stimulates regeneration of cartilaginous tissue, shows antiinflammatory, analgeziruyushchy action. Chondroitin sulfate which influences on phosphorus-кальциевий exchange in cartilaginous tissue is high-molecular mucopolysaccharide (m of m 20 000-30 000). Drug slows down a resorption of a bone tissue and reduces calcium losses, slows down processes of a degeneration of cartilaginous tissue. Interferes with a prelum of connecting fabric and plays a role of a peculiar greasing of joint surfaces, normalizes production of joint liquid.

Pharmacokinetics. About 90% of a glycosamine which arrived to an organism in the peroral way in the form of salt of a glycosamine are soaked up from a small bowel and from there through a portal blood stream arrives to a liver. Vagoma a part of a glycosamine that is soaked up, metabolized in a liver. The glycosamine is included in a metabolic way of production of a glikozaminoglikan. Glikozaminoglikana and proteoglycans is a part to a difficult matrix which makes a cartilage. The cartilage provides depreciation in associations. At osteoarthrites the cartilage begins to break and vice versa there is an outgrowth on a bone which leads to pain and an inflammation. The glycosamine stimulates production of proteoglycans and increases sulfate absorption joint hryashchy.

The glycosamine is almost completely soaked up, but its bioavailability at a peroral way of introduction makes 26%.

The glycosamine is removed generally by kidneys though an insignificant part (and which was not soaked up) – with urine. Some of its part at a metabolism turns on carbon dioxide and is removed through lungs.

Chondroitin, гликозаминогликан, is big a molecule therefore its bioavailability at a peroral way of introduction makes 12,5%. However researches show that 70% of substance are soaked up. Indications to use:

Primary and secondary osteoarthrosis; backbone osteochondrosis; degenerative and dystrophic diseases of a backbone and joints, a humeroscapular periarthritis, changes (for acceleration of formation of a bone callosity).

It is recommended to adults, elderly people in complex treatment at the diseases of a musculoskeletal system and other states which are followed by degenerative and dystrophic changes of tissues of joint cartilage.

Route of administration and doses:

The adult during the first 3 weeks appoint on 1 tablet 3 times a day, in the next days — on 1 tablet 2 times a day.

Treatment duration — 2–3 months. The course is repeated by 2–3 times a year.

If necessary the concomitant use with analgetics is possible.

The continuous three-year treatment-and-prophylactic course is on doctor's orders possible.

Features of use:

It is impossible to exceed the established dose.

It is not recommended for treatment of patients with diabetes, and also for use in pediatric practice.

If necessary it is possible to apply as a part of a combination therapy with GKS and NPVP.

If during treatment dizziness is observed, it is necessary to refrain from control of vehicles and work with difficult mechanisms.

 

Side effects:

All components of drug in general are transferred well.

From the alimentary system: pain in epigastric area moderate or moderately severe, a meteorism, diarrhea or a lock, nausea, vomiting.

Allergic reactions: rash on skin, an itch, urticaria, an erythema, dermatitis, hypostases.

Neurologic frustration: seldom — dizziness, drowsiness, a headache, sleeplessness, feeling of fatigue.

All manifestations moderate also disappear after drug withdrawal.

Interaction with other medicines:

The glycosamine strengthens absorption in a GIT of antibiotics of group of tetracyclines and reduces absorption of penicillin and chloramphenicol.

At simultaneous use with GKS and NPVP the glycosamine and chondroitin can reduce the need for them, and also for anesthetics.

Efficiency of treatment increases at enrichment of a diet vitamins A, With and salts of manganese, magnesium, copper, zinc and selenium.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug components. Fenilketonuriya, tendency to bleedings, thrombophlebitis, insufficiency of function of kidneys/liver in a decompensation stage. Period of pregnancy and feeding by a breast. Age up to 18 years.

Overdose:

In case of Protekon's overdose treatment – symptomatic.

Storage conditions:

To store in the dry places not available to children, at a temperature not above 30 degrees Celsius.
