Pentalgin-FS

General characteristics. Structure:

Active agents: paracetamol – 300 mg, metamizole sodium (analginum) – 300 mg, caffeine – 50 mg, phenobarbital – 10 mg, Codeini phosphas – 8 mg;

Excipients: potato starch, polyvinylpirrolidone, stearic acid, calcium stearate.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Drug possesses analgeziruyushchy, febrifugal, antiinflammatory, spasmolytic, sedative action. "Pentalgin-FS" – the combined drug combining properties of active ingredients.
Metamizole sodium and paracetamol – drugs of group of non-narcotic analgetik, possess the expressed antiinflammatory, febrifugal action, analgeziruyushchy activity.
Codeini phosphas strengthens effect of non-narcotic analgesics (blocks opiate receptors, stimulates antinotsitseptinovy system and changes emotional perception of pain).
Caffeine causes expansion of blood vessels of skeletal muscles, a brain, heart, kidneys; increases intellectual and physical effeciency, promotes elimination of exhaustion and drowsiness; increases arterial pressure at hypotension; increases permeability of gistogematichesky barriers and increases bioavailability of non-narcotic analgesics, promoting thereby strengthening of therapeutic effect.
Phenobarbital has sedative effect.

Pharmacokinetics. The kinetics of the combined drug Pentalginum - FS was not studied.

Indications to use:

Moderately expressed pain syndrome of various genesis: headache, dentagra, neuralgia, mialgiya, arthralgias, dysmenorrhea; as an antipyretic at feverish conditions of a different etiology.

Route of administration and doses:

Adults and children are more senior than 12 years at a short pain syndrome of Pentalgin-FS apply once on 1 tablet. At a long pain syndrome (neuralgia, an arthralgia, a mialgiya), at fever 3 times a day appoint on 1 tablet. Therapy duration, as a rule, should not exceed more than 5 days.

Features of use:

In view of a possibility of development of accustoming and formation of medicinal dependence on such components as codeine and phenobarbital, it is not necessary to appoint drug long courses (more than 5 days) and to apply it to treatment of children up to 12 years.
At prolonged use (more than 1 week) periodic control of peripheral blood and functions of a liver is necessary.
Drug can change results of a drug test of athletes. Complicates establishment of the diagnosis at an acute abdominal pain syndrome. The patients having atopic bronchial asthma, pollinoses have an increased risk of development of reaction of hypersensitivity.
Reception of Pentalgina-FS can complicate performance of the work demanding the high speed of mental and physical reactions (driving of motor transport, control of mechanisms, devices, etc.).

Side effects:

At single use seldom there are allergic reactions in the form of skin rash. At prolonged use at certain patients are possible:
– from outside
digestive tract: nausea, discomfort in epigastriums, vomiting; hepatotoxic action;
– from system of a hemopoiesis: leukopenia, granulocytopenia, agranulocytosis;
– from TsNS: slackness, drowsiness, decrease in attention.
Allergic reactions: skin rash, increase in a tone of bronchial tubes.

Interaction with other medicines:

At simultaneous use of Pentalgina-FS and means having the oppressing effect on TsNS increase in expressiveness of sedation and the oppressing action at a respiratory center is probable. Simultaneous use of drug with Chlorpromazinum or fenotiaziny can lead to development of the expressed hyperthermia. Reduces concentration of cyclosporine.
The phenobarbital which is a part of drug is the inductor of microsomal enzymes of a liver and therefore can accelerate clearance of the medicines which are metabolized in a liver.
Codeine at simultaneous use with ethanol strengthens its psychotropic effects.
Metamizol, forcing out peroral hypoglycemic drugs, indirect anticoagulants, glucocorticosteroids and indometacin from communication with protein, increases their activity. Tricyclic antidepressants, contraceptives for intake, Allopyrinolum break metabolism of metamizol in a liver and increase its toxicity.

Contraindications:

Pentalgin-FS it is contraindicated at the pulmonary insufficiency, states which are followed by respiratory depression, bronchial asthma in an aggravation phase, an abnormal liver function and/or kidneys, hypersensitivity to drug components; at anemia, a leukopenia, arrhythmia; at pregnancy and in the period of a lactation. Do not appoint drug to children up to 12 years.

Overdose:

Overdose symptoms: nausea, vomiting, gastralgia, tachycardia, arrhythmias, weakness, drowsiness, confusion of consciousness, lump, respiratory depression.
Treatment: a gastric lavage, purpose of absorbent carbon, the symptomatic therapy directed to maintenance of the vital functions; at an opportunity – a hemodialysis.

Storage conditions:

To store in the unavailable to children, dry, protected from light place at a temperature from 15 to 25 ºС.
