Description:
Fever call any fervescence more than 38 °s.temperatura bodies of the healthy person 36,1 °C to and 37,8 °C, with average value 37 °C fluctuate.
Reasons of the Hyper thermal syndrome (Fever):
The temperature center which controls this process is in the hypothalamus representing the small structure located deeply in a brain. The nervous system constantly transfers information on body temperature to the temperature center which, in turn, activates various physiological reactions intended for cooling or a warming up of a body depending on circumstances. These reactions include: reduction or increase in a flow of blood from the main bodies on a surface where blood is cooled. There can be a fever as a result of which through reduction of muscles heat is generated, there is a perspiration, and through evaporation the organism is cooled.
Fever arises when the temperature center reacts to changes in an organism, first of all in the presence of an infection. The fever which often accompanies fever, is caused by the movement of blood to the center of a body, leaving a body surface and extremities cold. At destruction of an infection or use of drugs-antipyretics, the temperature center is returned to the normal mode of functioning.
Fever is an important component of an immune response though its role is not absolutely studied. High temperature suppress growth of some bacteria, and at the same time accelerates chemical changes which help cells of an organism to recover themselves. Besides, increase in heart rate which can accompany changes in blood circulation accelerates receipt of white blood cells to the infection center.
Symptoms of the Hyper thermal syndrome (Fever):
Fever first of all is caused by a viral or bacterial infection, such as pneumonia or flu. Nevertheless, other diseases can cause fever, including allergic reactions, autoimmune diseases, injuries, cancer, excessive stay to the sun, intensive exercises, a hormonal imbalance, some drugs, and also damage of a hypothalamus. The stroke or a tumor can lead to damage of a hypothalamus therefore work of the temperature center is broken. Excessive stay to the sun or intensive physical exercises in hot weather can be led to heatstroke – a state at which cooling mechanisms are broken. The malignant hyperthermia is a rare, hereditary state at which at the person high temperature at use of certain anesthetics or muscle relaxants at a preparation for surgery.
As fever and what figures temperature level can reach lasts long, depends on several factors, including the reasons of development of fever, age of the person and his overall health. The majority of cases of fever are caused an acute infection, with sudden emergence and stopping at operation of immune system. The fever caused by an infection can reach the peak at certain one o'clock in the afternoon. Subfebrile temperature which lasts for several weeks most likely is connected with autoimmune diseases or cancer.
Fever is usually diagnosed by means of the thermometer. Now various thermometers are available. It is desirable not to use the glass thermometer since it can break and provoke emission of mercury which is toxic. Instead of glass thermometers it is better to use digital thermometers. They can rektalno, is oral also in axillary area. Electronic thermometers can be inserted into an ear quickly to register body temperatures.
Treatment of the Hyper thermal syndrome (Fever):
The most effective remedy for treatment of fever of infectious genesis is use of antibiotics. Drugs for decrease in temperature (antipyretics) can be appointed if the patient feels discomfort because of temperature increase. Among this group of drugs preference should be given to acetaminophen and an ibuprofen. Aspirin should not be given to the patient with temperature increase as this drug is connected with the increased risk of development of a syndrome of Ray. Bathing of people in warm water can also help to reduce high temperature.
Fever demands the emergency treatment under the following circumstances:
- the newborn with a temperature has over 38 °C;
- the baby or child with a temperature have over 39,4 °C;
- fever is followed by a severe headache, a stiff neck, confusion of consciousness or severe hypostasis in a throat.
Very high temperature can cause spasms (febrile spasms) in the small child and, therefore, has to be stopped immediately. It is necessary to pay attention to the symptoms accompanying temperature increase, and at suspicion of meningitis urgently to call the doctor.
