Ascorbic acid with glucose
Producer: RUP of Belmedpreparata Republic of Belarus
Code of automatic telephone exchange: A11GB
Release form: Firm dosage forms. Tablets.
General characteristics. Structure:
Active ingredient: 100 mg of ascorbic acid, 877 mg of glucose (dextrose).
Pharmacological properties:
Pharmacodynamics. Ascorbic acid is one of the most powerful natural antioxidants. Supports hydrogen transport in many biochemical reactions, thereby regulates different types of exchange. Ascorbic acid participates in regulation of oxidation-reduction processes, carbohydrate metabolism, coagulability of blood, in an angenesis, in formation of steroid hormones, in synthesis of collagen and procollagen, in normalization of permeability of capillaries.
Activates proteolytic enzymes, participates in exchange of aromatic amino acids and in pigmental exchange, regulates the content of cholesterol in blood, promotes accumulation in a glycogen liver. Due to activation of respiratory enzymes of a liver strengthens its detoksikatsionny and belkovoobrazovatelny functions, increases synthesis of a prothrombin.
Has antiinflammatory and antiallergic effect. Slows down release and accelerates degradation of a histamine, formation of prostaglandins, etc. anaphylaxis mediators oppresses. Glucose takes part in power and carbohydrate exchanges.
Indications to use:
Prevention hypo - and vitamin C avitaminosis, during recovery after the postponed diseases, for increase in physical and intellectual effeciency, at pregnancy and in the period of a lactation.
Route of administration and doses:
In the preventive purposes appoint the adult on 0,05-0,1g in days, during pregnancy, in a puerperal period and at low appoint contents of vitamin C in milk of the feeding women on 0,3 g a day within 10-15 days then preventively – on 0,1 g a day within 10-15 days then preventively on 0,1 g a day during the entire period of a lactation.
To children appoint with the medical purpose 0,05-0,1 g 2-3 times a day.
Medical doses for adults make at intake 0,05-0,1 g of 3-5 times a day. The tablet needs to be chewed previously. Terms of treatment depend on character and the course of a disease.
Features of use:
Persons with deficit glyukozo-6-phosphate of a dehydrogenase should use drug with care.
At prolonged use of ascorbic acid it is necessary to monitor function of kidneys and arterial pressure, to regularly control function of the insulyarny device of a pancreas. Patients with the increased content of iron in an organism should apply ascorbic acid in the minimum doses.
Purpose of ascorbic acid to patients with quickly proliferating and intensively metastasizing tumors can aggravate the course of process.
Ascorbic acid as a reducer can distort results of laboratory tests.
Use during pregnancy and feeding by a breast. At pregnancy and in the period of a lactation apply only if the estimated advantage for mother exceeds risk for a fruit and the child. During pregnancy and a lactation ascorbic acid is accepted only on doctor's orders. Daily need for ascorbic acid for the II-III trimesters of pregnancy of 90-100 mg. It must be kept in mind that the fruit can adapt to high doses of ascorbic acid which is accepted by the pregnant woman, and then at the newborn development of a syndrome of "cancellation" is possible. Theoretically there is a danger to the child at use by the nursing mother of high doses of ascorbic acid (it is recommended not to exceed the nursing mother of daily need for ascorbic acid). The recommended daily need for ascorbic acid in the period of a lactation of 120 mg.
Influence on ability to manage motor transport and potentially dangerous mechanisms. Does not influence.
Side effects:
Long reception of vitamin C (more than 1 gram) with glucose can promote development of symptoms of an urolithiasis and increase in level of sugar in blood and urine, can cause irritation mucous a GIT, break function of the insulyarny device of a pancreas, a giperprotrombinemiya, to promote a thrombogenesis, development of a hyperglycemia and glucosuria, thrombocytosis.
Interaction with other medicines:
Ascorbic acid increases concentration in blood of benzylpenicillin and tetracyclines; in a dose of 1 g/days increases bioavailability of ethinylestradiol (including being a part of oral contraceptives).
Improves absorption in intestines of iron preparations, can increase removal of iron at simultaneous use with Deferoxaminum.
Reduces efficiency of heparin and indirect anticoagulants.
Acetylsalicylic acid, oral contraceptives, fresh juice and alkaline drink reduce absorption and assimilation.
Increases risk of development of a crystalluria at treatment by salicylates and streptocides of short action, slows down removal by kidneys of acids, increases removal of the medicines having alkali reaction (including alkaloids, reduces concentration in blood of oral contraceptives).
Increases the general clearance of ethanol which in turn reduces concentration of ascorbic acid in an organism.
In high doses increases removal of a meksiletin kidneys.
Barbiturates increase removal of ascorbic acid with urine.
Reduces therapeutic effect of antipsychotic medicines (neuroleptics) – derivatives of a fenotiazin, a canalicular reabsorption of amphetamine and tricyclic antidepressants.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to drug components, the increased sugar level in urine or blood, the increased coagulability of blood, thrombophlebitis and tendency to fibrinferments.
Overdose:
At treatment by high doses it is necessary to monitor function of kidneys and arterial pressure and function of a pancreas.
