General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent: 250 mg of ciprofloxacin.

Pharmacological properties:

Ciprofloxacin – antibacterial drug of a broad spectrum of activity from group of ftorkhinolon of the III generation. The mechanism of action consists in inhibition of bacterial enzymes of topoisomerase II (DNK-girazy) and the topoisomerases IV necessary for synthesis of bacterial DNA. At intake ciprofloxacin is very quickly soaked up. Bioavailability fluctuates from 70% to 80%, the peak of concentration in a blood plasma is reached depending on a dose in 1 — 2 hour after reception. Indications to use:

Therapy of the infections caused by sensitive strains: a lower respiratory tract infection, a purulent inflammation of a middle ear, an exacerbation of chronic sinusitis, an infection of urinary tract, the infection caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae, GIT infections, an intraabdominal infection, an infection of skin and soft tissues, bones and joints, an infection and prevention in patients with a neyropeniya, a pulmonary form of a malignant anthrax and tsistichesky fibrosis in children.

Route of administration and doses:

The dose and duration of a course of treatment are established on the basis of indications, by severity and localizations of an infection, sensitivity of the activator, a condition of function of kidneys of the patient; at children and teenagers depending on body weight. As a rule, it is appointed in a dose of 500 — 750 mg 2 р / days, irrespective of meal.

Features of use:

Administration of drug is not recommended to patients up to 18 years (risk of development of an arthropathy and injury of cartilages). There is a risk of injury of sinews (mainly, at sports, at elderly patients, at joint reception of kortikoid), light-sensitive reaction (it is necessary to avoid stay in the sun), lengthening of an interval of QT. With care patients need to appoint drug with epilepsy as ciprofloxacin reduces a convulsive threshold. Drug can reduce ability to manage vehicles and to service mechanisms.

Side effects:

Often: nausea and diarrhea; less often: pains in a musculoskeletal system, an enanthesis, urticaria, an itch, the increased levels of transaminases and bilirubin, vomiting, dyspepsia, abdominal pains, a headache, dizziness, a sleep disorder and taste, psychomotor agitation, an eosinophilia and fungal superinfection.

Interaction with other medicines:

The antacids containing salts of magnesium and aluminum, сукральфат of salt of bivalent iron, calcium salt (medicines and dairy products), a sevelamer and salts of zinc reduce ciprofloxacin absorption. Ciprofloxacin increases plasmatic concentration and side effects of a tizanidin, methotrexate, theophylline and other derivatives of xanthine, a ropinirol, clozapine; increases anti-coagulative effect of warfarin; can reduce and increase concentration of Phenytoinum in a blood plasma. Probenetsid increases concentration of ciprofloxacin in blood serum. Ciprofloxacin doubles the level of a sildenafil in a blood plasma.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to active ingredient or other hinolona, or to any excipient; concomitant use of ciprofloxacin and tizanidin. During pregnancy and feeding by a breast administration of drug is not recommended.

Overdose:

There are no data on overdose.

Storage conditions:

In the place protected from light, at a temperature of 15-25 °C.
