Tablet ampicillin

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: ampicillin;
1 tablet contains Ampicillini trihdras in terms of ampicillin 0,25 g;
excipients: potato starch, talc, calcium stearate.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. It is active concerning gram-positive microorganisms (Streptococcus spp., including S. pneumoniae, Enterococcus spp., Listeria monocytogenes, etc.) and number of gram-negative microorganisms (Neisseria meningitidis, N. gonorrhoeae, Escherichia coli, Shigella spp., Salmonella spp., Proteus spp., Bordetella pertussis, some strains of Haemophilus influenzae, etc.). Drug collapses a penicillinase and therefore does not affect penitsillinazoobrazuyushchy strains of microbes (for example, Staphylococcus spp.).

Pharmacokinetics. It is well soaked up at intake, getting into fabrics and biological liquids of an organism. Drug does not collapse in acid medium of a stomach. Indications to use:

Pneumonia, bronchitis, bronchial pneumonia, quinsy, infections to urine - and biliary tract (a pyelitis, pyelonephritis, cystitis, a cholangitis, cholecystitis), an intestinal path (including a salmonellosis), soft tissues, the gonorrhea and other diseases caused by microorganisms, sensitive to action of an antibiotic.

Route of administration and doses:

It is necessary to adhere to recommendations of the doctor accurately. It is impossible to change a dose or to stop treatment by Ampicillin without preliminary consultation with the doctor.
Ampicillin is applied inside, irrespective of meal. The single dose for adults makes 0,5 g, daily – 2–3 g. To children, since 6-year age, drug appoint 100 mg/kg in a daily dose. The daily dose is divided into 4–6 receptions. Treatment duration is established by Ampicillin individually, depending on disease severity and efficiency of therapy (from 5 days to 3 weeks and more).

Features of use:

In the course of treatment systematic control of function of kidneys is necessary, for a liver and peripheral blood. Patients with a renal failure need correction of the mode of dosing according to values of clearance of creatinine.

Side effects:

At use of Ampicillin allergic reactions (skin rash, a small tortoiseshell, rhinitis, conjunctivitis, a Quincke's edema, it is very rare – an acute anaphylaxis, etc.), dispeptic frustration (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea) are possible. At the first symptoms of an allergy drug is cancelled and carry out the desensibilizing therapy, and at emergence of signs of an acute anaphylaxis take urgent measures for its elimination. Ampicillin strengthens effect of peroral anticoagulants. Antibacterial effect of drug amplifies at simultaneous use with aminoglycosides.

Contraindications:

Use of Ampicillin is contraindicated at hypersensitivity to drugs of group of penicillin, during the periods of pregnancy and feeding by a breast. At bronchial asthma, hay fever and other allergic diseases in exceptional cases at the same time appoint the desensibilizing means. At a liver failure Ampicillin is used under control of a functional condition of a liver.

Overdose:

Perhaps toxic impact on the central nervous system (dizziness, headache), the dispeptic phenomena (nausea, vomiting, a liquid chair), allergic reactions in the form of skin rashes. In case of symptoms of overdose administration of drug it is necessary to stop and see a doctor immediately.

Storage conditions:
