Tominksoz

Description:

Tominksoz - the helminthosis from group of nematodoses which is characterized by damage of airways. In the Soviet Union it was described for the first time by K. I. Scriabin in 1939 (all several cases are registered). Abroad томинксоз at people it is unknown though at animals it was described in France, the USA and other countries

Tominksoz's symptoms:

Tominksoz at the person is characterized by the long current with the phenomena of tracheitis, bronchitis, bronchial pneumonia barking a painful pertussoid with allocation of a large number of the foamy mucopurulent phlegm containing Kurshman's spirals and eosinophils, and sometimes and blood streaks; the disease often proceeds in the form of asthmatic attacks with a blood eosinophilia to 25-30% and above and increase in SOE up to 45 mm/h.
The diagnosis is made at detection of eggs of helminth in a phlegm or in excrements.

Tominksoz's reasons:

The activator - threadlike nematodes light gray, sometimes pink color, with thinner head end. The sizes of a male - 15-18 by 0,06-0,07 mm, a female - 18-20 by 0,96-0,105 mm. Eggs of a bochonkovidny form, asymmetric, with pro-barrels on both poles, remind threadworm eggs.
In a body of an animal and the person of a larva make migration with blood and a lymph from intestines in bronchial tubes and a trachea. Development to a puberal stage happens in 25 - 29 days. The term of life of a parasite in bodies not of the final owner - about a year.
Final owners of tominks are dogs, cats, wild fur-bearing animals - foxes, polar foxes, martens, a sable, minks, and also occasionally the person; helminths parasitize at them in bronchial tubes, tracheas and a nasal cavity. The intermediate owner - an earthworm in whose body larvae of a tominks live more than 11 months. Infection of animals occurs during the aestivo-autumnal period, when eating the earthworms struck with larvae of a tominks.
Infection of the person is possible at pollution of hands contents of accidentally crushed infested (infected) earthworms during fishing, land works, works on a kitchen garden etc.

Tominksoz's treatment:

Treatment consists in intratracheal (intra tracheal) administration of drugs of iodine and appointment in a ditratsin of citrate or levamisole (decarice). The forecast for life favorable, however dragged on томинксоз can lead to exhaustion of the patient. Due to the sensitization (increase in sensitivity) of an organism recovery, even after death of a parasite, occurs slowly (attacks of asthmatic character are observed for a number of years). Prevention consists in washing of hands after earthwork and contact with earthworms.
