Pharmacological properties:

Vasoconstrictive drug for topical administration in the LOR-expert. Xylomethazolinum (derivative imidazoline) is alpha адреномиметиком, causes narrowing of blood vessels of a mucous membrane of a nose, eliminating its hypostasis and a hyperemia, recovers passability of the nasal courses, facilitates nasal breath and improves an otkhozhdeniye of allocations from a nose at rhinitises (nasmorka) of various origin.

Effect of drug comes in a few minutes after its use and continues to 10 h.

 

Pharmacokinetics. At topical administration drug is practically not soaked up therefore its concentration in a blood plasma is very small (by modern analytical methods is not defined).

Indications to use:

— acute rhinitis (including against the background of acute respiratory diseases and allergic rhinitis);

— sinusitis;

— eustachitis;

— average otitis (as a part of a combination therapy for reduction of hypostasis of a mucous membrane of a nasopharynx);

— for simplification of carrying out a rinoskopiya;

— training of patients for diagnostic manipulations in the nasal courses.

Route of administration and doses:

Spray of nasal 0,05%, 0,1%. 

To adults and children 6 years – on 1 (one) injection of 0,1% of spray in each nostril (the nasal course) 3 times a day are more senior. 

If necessary it is possible to repeat injection (no more than two injections at the same time).

To children from 2 to 6 years – on 1 (one) injection of 0,05% of spray in each nostril (the nasal course) 1-2 times a day. 

It is not necessary to use drug more than 3 times a day.

Treatment duration – no more than 5-7 days (without interruption). 

After completion of therapy it is possible to appoint drug repeatedly only in several days.

Duration of use of drug for children is determined by the doctor.

Rules of use of drug

To remove a protective cap from a bottle. Before the first use it is necessary to press several times a raspylitelny nozzle before emergence of a stream with "a fog cloudlet". The bottle is ready to use. At injection it is necessary to press a raspylitelny nozzle of 1 times. To inhale drug through a nose. Whenever possible it is necessary to hold a bottle sprayer vertically. Not to spray spray horizontally or down. After use to close a bottle sprayer a protective cap.

Features of use:

It is not necessary to apply more than 7 days. It is not necessary to exceed the recommended doses and to apply for a long time.

Before use it is necessary to clear the nasal courses.

Influence on ability to driving of motor transport and to control of mechanisms

In the doses exceeding recommended can influence ability to manage vehicles and to be engaged in other potentially dangerous types of activity demanding the increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions that demands respect for care.

Side effects:

Local reactions: at frequent and/or prolonged use - irritation and/or dryness of a mucous membrane of a nasopharynx, burning, paresthesias, sneezing, hypersecretion; seldom - a rhinedema.

System reactions: vomiting, a headache, heartbeat, increase in the ABP, sleeplessness, a vision disorder, a depression (at prolonged use of high doses).

Interaction with other medicines:

Strengthening of systemic action of xylomethazolinum at simultaneous use of MAO inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants is possible.

Contraindications:

— arterial hypertension;

— tachycardia;

— the expressed atherosclerosis;

— glaucoma;

— atrophic rhinitis;

— hyperthyroidism;

— surgical interventions on a meninx (in the anamnesis);

— pregnancy (for drops nasal);

— children's age up to 2 years;

— children's age up to 6 years (for drops of nasal 0.1% and spray of nasal 0.1%);

— hypersensitivity to drug components (including to oil eucalyptus).

Not to apply at therapy by MAO inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants, and also with other drugs raising the ABP.

With care it is necessary to appoint drug at a diabetes mellitus, an ischemic heart disease, stenocardia of the III-IV functional class, a prostate hyperplasia, in the period of a lactation.

 

Use of the drug RINORUS® at pregnancy and feeding by a breast
The drug Rinorus® in the form of drops nasal is contraindicated to use at pregnancy.

The drug Rinorus® in the form of spray nasal at pregnancy should be used only after careful assessment of a ratio of advantage for mother and risk for a fruit, exceeding of the recommended doses is not allowed.

During breastfeeding it is necessary to appoint drug with care.

 

Use for children

Drops are nasal

To children 6 years are more senior nasal 0.1% on 2-3 drops in each nasal course 3-4 dig in drops

To children from 2 to 6 years nasal 0.05% on 1-2 drops in each nasal course 1-2 dig in drops it is not necessary to apply more than 3 times /

Treatment duration - no more than 3-5 days (without interruption).

Spray nasal

To children 6 years are more senior – on 1 injection of spray of nasal 0.1% in each nasal course 3 If necessary it is possible to repeat injection (no more than two injections at the same time).

Overdose:

Symptoms: decrease in body temperature, bradycardia, increase in the ABP.

Treatment: carry out symptomatic therapy.

Storage conditions:

Drug should be stored in dry, protected from light, the place, unavailable to children, at a temperature not above 25 °C. A period of validity of drops nasal - 3 years, spray nasal - 2 years.
