Evkazolin Akwa

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: xylometazoline;

1 g of spray contains hydrochloride xylomethazolinum in terms of 100% substance of 1 mg;

excipients: benzalkoniya chloride; oil eucalyptus; dinatrium эдетат; propylene glycol; polyethyleneglycol 1500; povidone; gipromeloza; polysorbate 20; sodium hydrophosphate, dodecahydrate; potassium dihydrophosphate; water for injections.

Pharmacological properties:

Evkazolin Akwa treats non-selective α-adrenomimetika. When drawing has antiedematous effect on a mucous membrane of a nose, reduces a hyperemia and exudation that promotes simplification of nasal breath, reduction of a blood-groove in venous sine.

Drug has preferential local effect, is soaked up through mucous membranes at usual use in insignificant quantity. Effect of drug begins in 5-10 minutes and continues within 5-6 hours.

Indications to use:

Symptomatic treatment of a congestion of a nose at cold, hay fever, allergic rhinitises, sinusitis.

For simplification of outflow of a secret at diseases of adnexal bosoms of a nose.

Auxiliary therapy of average otitis (for reduction of hypostasis of a mucous membrane of nasal cavities).

At diagnostic interventions (rinoskopiya).

Route of administration and doses:

For topical administration. Just before use it is necessary to take a bottle with drug in a palm to warm it to body temperature.

To adults and children 10 years on 1 injection in each nasal course 3-4 times a day are more senior.

The course of treatment depends on the course of a disease and should not exceed 10 days in a row.

After the termination of a course of treatment it is possible to appoint drug only in several days and again after consultation with the doctor. Treatment duration to children is determined by the doctor individually.

Features of use:

Use during pregnancy or feeding by a breast.

Drug cannot be used during pregnancy.

It is unknown whether xylomethazolinum gets into breast milk therefore women who nurse can use drug only when, according to the doctor, the expected advantage for mother exceeds potential risk for the child.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of motor transport or work with other mechanisms.

Drug does not influence ability to manage vehicles and difficult mechanisms at use in the recommended doses, but it is necessary to consider probability of emergence of a temporary vision disorder.

Children. Evkazolin Akwa apply to children 10 years are more senior.

Side effects:

By-effects are possible: burning in a nose or a throat, prickings, dryness in a nose, sneezing, nausea, short wind, a Quincke's disease. In isolated cases system allergic reactions are possible. At long use or frequent use of high concentration manifestations of resorptive effect in the form of dizziness, a headache, sleeplessnesses, vomitings, increases in arterial pressure, heartbeat, disturbance of a cordial rhythm, a short-term vision disorder can be noted a rhinedema. At especially long use of drug in high doses the depression can develop.

Interaction with other medicines:

Evkazolin Akwa interacts with other medicines only with resorptive effect. Preparaty-adrenomimetiki other groups strengthen Evkazolin's action Akwa. Adrenolytic drugs and sympatholytics, antagonists of calcium weaken its effect.

Joint administration of monoamine oxidase inhibitors or tricyclic antidepressants can lead to increase in arterial pressure owing to influence of these drugs on cardiovascular system.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to any of drug components, acute coronary diseases, coronary asthma, a hyperthyroidism, closed-angle glaucoma, a transfenoidalny hypophysectomy or existence in the anamnesis of transnasal/transoral surgical interventions with an exposure of a firm meninx. The accompanying treatment by MAO inhibitors and for           2 weeks after the termination of their use.

Appropriate security measures at use.

 

Drug should not be used continuously throughout the long periods (more than 10 days in a row) at chronic rhinitises. Prolonged treatment by drug can cause converse effect.

It is not necessary to exceed the recommended drug dose, especially at treatment of children and elderly people.

Patients who at use of adrenergic drugs have strong reactions which are shown in the form of sleeplessness, dizziness, a tremor, cardiac arrhythmia, increase in arterial pressure should appoint drug with care.

It is necessary to appoint with care drug to patients with cardiovascular diseases, arterial hypertension, a sick diabetes mellitus, with diseases of a thyroid gland, with the complicated urination.

Due to the vasoconstrictive effect of drug increase in intraocular pressure is possible.

Only one person has to use each packaging of drops to avoid infection.

Overdose:

At too frequent use of drug in the increased concentration overdose symptoms in the form of a headache, dryness in a nose, nausea, depressions, increases in arterial pressure, a short-term vision disorder can be shown. It is necessary to stop use of drug and to apply drugs antagonists: sympatholytics and α-adrenoblockers ((((((((((phentolamine, Tropaphenum), symptomatic therapy.

If drug was accidentally drunk, it is necessary to wash out a stomach, to accept purgatives and enterosorbents. Treatment is shown by α-adrenoblockers;;;;;;;;;; symptomatic therapy.

Storage conditions:

Period of validity. 2 years. Not to use drug after the termination of the period of validity specified on packaging. To store in the place protected from light at a temperature not above 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children.
