Prednisolonum

General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent: Prednisolonum - 0,5 g. Excipients: глицерол (the glycerin distilled), vaseline medical, stearic acid, emulsifier No. 1, methylparahydroxybenzoate (нипагин), пропилпарагидроксибензоат (нипазол), the water purified.

Pharmacological properties:

At external use renders antiinflammatory, antiallergic, antipruritic and anti-exudative action. Suppresses formation of arachidonic acid, education and release of mediators of an inflammation (a histamine, prostaglandins, leukotrienes, lizosomalny enzymes, etc.). Suppresses skin inflammatory reaction, reduces a vazodilatation and a hyperpermeability of vessels in the inflammation center. 

Pharmacokinetics. Prednisolonum after absorption from the surface of skin contacts proteins of plasma, is exposed to the metabolism happening mainly in a liver. It is allocated through kidneys.

Indications to use:

Drug is used in complex therapy of inflammatory and allergic zabolevaniiya of skin of not microbic etiology: eczema, allergic, seborrheal and contact dermatitis, neurodermatitis, psoriasis, lupus erythematosus, erythrosis.

Route of administration and doses:

Outwardly. Ointment is applied a thin layer on affected areas of skin by 1-3 times a day. Duration of treatment depends on the nature of a disease and efficiency of therapy, making, as a rule, 6-14 days. In the period of an aftercare, perhaps to use drug once a day. For prevention of a recurrence at treatment of chronic diseases therapy follow to continue still some time after disappearance of all symptoms.
On sites with more dense skin (for example, elbows, palms and feet), and also places from which drug is easily erased, the thicket can apply ointment.
On limited sites of skin for strengthening of effect occlusive bandages can be used.

Features of use:

Duration of use of drug should not exceed 14 days.
As well as other local glucocorticosteroids, the drug Prednisolonum cannot be applied on skin in eyes (because of possible development of glaucoma and a cataract), and also on wound surfaces.
If the course of a disease is complicated by development of a consecutive bacterial or fungal infection, the drug Prednisolonum it is necessary to add specific antibacterial or anti-mycotic agent to therapy.

Side effects:

Steroid eels, purpura, teleangiectasias, burning and itch of skin, irritation and xeroderma. At prolonged use and/or when drawing on big surfaces development of a hypercorticoidism as manifestation of resorptive effect of Prednisolonum is possible. In these cases use of drug it is necessary to stop and see a doctor.

Interaction with other medicines:

Data are absent.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug components, bacterial, virus, fungal infections of skin, tuberculosis, syphilis, skin tumors, vulgar eels, a rozatsea, skin postvaccinal reactions, open wounds, trophic ulcers, children's age (till 1 year).
With care: pregnancy, lactation period. 
Use at pregnancy External use of Prednisolonum at pregnant women is allowed in cases when according to the attending physician the potential advantage for the pregnant woman prevails over possible risk for a fruit. In these cases use has to be short and be limited to small sites of skin. Data on teratogenic effect are absent.

Overdose:

Symptoms: function oppression гипоталамо - pituitary and adrenal system, a hyperglycemia, a glucosuria, an Icenco-Cushing syndrome. Symptoms disappear after drug phase-out.
Treatment: gradual drug withdrawal, a symptomatic treatment, if necessary – correction of an electrolytic imbalance.

Storage conditions:

List B. At a temperature from 8 to 15 °C. To store in the places unavailable to children. 
Period of validity 2 years. Not to apply after a period of validity.
