Description:
Septicaemia - a sepsis form of which are characteristic the expressed toxicosis (high temperature, the darkened consciousness), an organism hyperreactivity (hyperergy), lack of purulent metastasises and a rapid current.
Symptoms Septicaemia:
The septicaemia develops very quickly. For effective treatment it is necessary to distinguish the first symptoms of a disease. The septicaemia can begin with the symptoms typical for a respiratory disease.
• The child will feel an indisposition and weakness.
• It can have symptoms of intestinal infection, such as vomiting and diarrhea.
• The condition of the child quickly worsens, other symptoms appear.
• High temperature (39-40 °C).
• Apathy and refusal of food.
• Fever, cryesthesia, blanching of hands and feet.
• The speeded-up shallow breathing.
• The speeded-up cordial rhythm.
The toxins emitted by bacteria damage blood vessels, causing emergence of the rash known as hemorrhagic. Literally it means existence of hypodermic hemorrhages. Rash has punctulate character in the beginning, but is inclined to merge, forming the large sites reminding numerous bruises. The septicaemia can develop very quickly, and in certain cases rash extends literally in the eyes. Heavy disease is demonstrated by nonsense and a loss of consciousness.
Reasons Septicaemia:
The septicaemia is caused by the pathogenic microorganisms (much more often than a bacterium) getting to blood. These microbes usually get to blood through small wounds or through a mouth, but are in most cases destroyed by immune system.
If the break of microbes in blood came in one step from the inflammatory center which is available in an organism (for example, otitis, pyelonephritis), then the septicaemia (blood poisoning) can develop. The septicaemia can develop as a complication of any serious infectious disease.
The toxins emitted by microbes cause a set of pathological reactions in an organism, striking cells and fabrics of all bodies, promoting development of shock and disturbance of functions of any systems leading to a lethal outcome.
Bacteria, but also other microorganisms, such as viruses and mushrooms are the main reason for a septicaemia, can cause this disease.
Treatment Septicaemia:
It is necessary to begin treatment as soon as possible not to allow development of irreversible processes. If the doctor suspects a septicaemia at the child, then he will be urgently brought to chamber of an intensive care or to intensive care unit.
For fight against pathogenic microbes antibiotics of a broad spectrum of activity will be intravenously entered.
After establishment of the specific activator (on blood tests) specific antibiotics to which the activator is most sensitive will be appointed.
Through system of intravenous administration (dropper) the child will receive the necessary medicines, solutions providing intake of necessary nutrients to bodies and oxygen to fabrics.
At identification of shock the antishock therapy including drugs for increase in arterial pressure will be carried out.
If necessary to the child the moistened oxygen constantly or sessions moves.
If the contaminated wound, phlegmon or abscess is the reason of a septicaemia, then surgical treatment of the revealed center is made.
The condition of the child will be constantly controlled with measurement of arterial pressure, definition of ChSS and biochemical indicators of blood.
