Description:
(Latin abscessus — abscess) — a purulent inflammation of fabrics with their fusion and formation of a purulent cavity, can develop in hypodermic cellulose, muscles, bones, and also in bodies or between them. Abscess can arise as independently and as a complication of other disease (pneumonia, an injury, quinsy — retropharyngeal abscess). Development of abscess is connected with hit in an organism of pyogenic microbes through injuries of skin or mucous membranes or with an activator drift on circulatory and absorbent vessels from other suppurative focus. Defense reaction of an organism is shown in formation of the capsule limiting abscess from healthy fabrics.
Abtsess's symptoms:
The symptomatology depends on a look and localization of abscess.
Abtsess's reasons:
The causative agent of abscesses and phlegmons is the mixed microflora with dominance of streptococci and stafilokokk in a complex with intestinal and other types of sticks. In recent years the significant role of anaerobe bacterias, bacteroids and clostridiums in development of abscesses and phlegmons, and also associations of an aerobic and mephitic gangrene is proved. In certain cases the pus received when opening abscesses and phlegmons does not give growth of microorganisms on usual mediums that testifies to the activators not characteristic of these diseases who cannot be found standard research practices. These in a certain measure can explain a significant amount of abscesses and phlegmons with an atypical current.
The amount of pus in an abscess cavity can reach several liters.
Abtsess's treatment:
Treatment in most cases — surgical.
Method of the choice of treatment of abscess of an abdominal cavity — transdermal drainage or a puncture under ultrasonography control.
