Description:
Liver abscess – the limited accumulation of pus against the background of destruction of the site of a hepatic parenchyma resulting from penetration into body of microbic flora or parasites.
Liver Abscess symptoms:
As a rule, abscesses of a liver develop slowly therefore also symptoms comes to light gradually. Patients complain of severe and constant pains in right hypochondrium. Fervescence is noted that often is the first symptom of a disease. High temperature with a fever, pain in a liver, the feeling of weight, increase in the sizes of a liver, morbidity at its palpation are characteristic.
Liver Abscess reasons:
Most often the injuries, a disease and intoxication breaking functions of a liver are origins of abscesses of a liver. Perforative appendicitis and an inflammation of bilious ways are the frequent reasons of abscess.
One more reason – a purulent pylephlebitis – is connected with spread of an infection from the centers in an abdominal cavity.
People of middle and advanced age are ill preferential. The disease equally often affects both men, and women.
Treatment of Abscess of a liver:
Very often only method of treatment is operation. Now in treatment of abscess of a liver ultrasonography under which control it is possible to make a puncture is used and to produce pus outside. In all cases sick appoint antibiotics taking into account sensitivity of microflora.
