The antiseptic agent possessing the expressed bactericidal action concerning gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (does not influence acid resisting forms of the last): Treponema pallidum, Chlamidia spp., Ureaplasma spp., Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Gardnerella vaginalis, Bacteroides fragilis, elementary (Trichomonas vaginalis), microbic dispute, viruses, mushrooms; poorly the protea and pseudo-monads influences some types. Hlorgeksidina биглюконат it is active also concerning treponemas, gonokokk, trichomonads. Keeps activity (a little reduced) in the presence of blood, pus. Clears and disinfects skin, without causing its damage.

Indications to use:

Solution of a hlorgeksidin of a biglyukonat of 0,05% is applied to prevention of venereal diseases (syphilis, gonorrhea, trichomoniasis, clamidiosis, etc.), is effective no later than two hours after sexual intercourse; for antiseptic processing of wounds, attritions and cracks, burns, for washing of a bladder at cystitis.

In stomatology drug is used for rinsing of an oral cavity when observance of rules of hygiene, in the postoperative period after scrappy operations on a parodonta, for washings of dentogingival pockets, fistulas, cavities of abscesses is complicated. As the hlorgeksidina биглюконат has cytotoxic effect and paints teeth in yellow color, concentration of solution for rinsing should not exceed 0,025%.

Route of administration and doses:

Outwardly and locally. Solution of a hlorgeksidin of a biglyukonat of 0,05% is applied after an urination: by means of a nozzle to enter into an urethra (2 - 3 ml) and to detain for 2 – 3 minutes; to women to enter into an urethra (1 - 2 ml) and into a vagina (5 – 10 ml) and to detain for 2 – 3 minutes. For processing of wounds, attritions, cracks and burns to wash out an affected area of skin, or to process the tampon moistened with drug.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions, dryness and itch of skin, dermatitis, photosensitization.

Interaction with other medicines:

It is not compatible to the detergents containing anion group (saponins, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium carboxymethylcellulose). Simultaneous use with iodine is not recommended.

Presence of soap can inactivate хлоргексидин therefore before drug use the remains of soap need to be washed away carefully. Ethanol increases efficiency of drug.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity, dermatitis, viral diseases of skin.
