General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient – Hexetidinum of 1,00 mg
Excipients: propylene glycol, polysorbate-20, citric acid monohydrate, sodium saccharinate, рацементол, methyl salicylate, dye azoruby, ethanol of 96%, water.

Description. Transparent liquid of red color.

Pharmacological properties:

Antiseptic drug for topical administration in otorhinolaryngology and stomatology.
Antimicrobic action of Hexetidinum is connected with suppression of oxidizing reactions of metabolism of microbic cells (the antagonist of thiamin). Drug has antibacterial effect concerning gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Proteus spp. and antifungal action (including concerning sort Candida mushrooms). At concentration of 100 mg/ml oppression of growth of the majority of strains of bacteria is reached. Development of stability was not observed.
Hexetidinum has weak analgeziruyushchy effect on a mucous membrane.

Pharmacokinetics. Geksetidin adgezirutsya well on a mucous membrane and is practically not soaked up. After single use Hexetidinum is found on a mucous membrane of an oral cavity within 65 hours. In tooth plaques active concentration remain within 10-14 hours after use.

Indications to use:

Inflammatory and infectious diseases of an oral cavity and throat: quinsies (including quinsies with defeat of side rollers, Plauta-Vincent's quinsy), pharyngitis, an ulitis and bleeding of gums, periodontopathias, stomatitis, a glossitis, aphthous ulcers for the purpose of prevention of superinfection, infection of alveoluses after an exodontia, fungal infections of an oral cavity and throat, especially candidosis stomatitis, before operations in oral cavities and throats, additional hygiene of an oral cavity at the general diseases, elimination of an unpleasant smell from a mouth, especially in case of the collapsing tumors of an oral cavity and throat.

Route of administration and doses:

Locally.
For rinsing it is necessary to use not divorced drug always.
Solution cannot be swallowed. It is necessary to spit out solution after rinsing.
At oral cavity diseases at adults and children 5 years are aged more senior to rinse an oral cavity of 10-15 ml (one tablespoon) of not divorced solution of drug within 30 seconds. At throat diseases at adults and children 5 years are aged more senior apply rinsings by the same amount of not divorced solution of drug for 30 seconds. At treatment of diseases of an oral cavity drug can be applied by means of a tampon.
Apply 2 times a day (preferably in the morning and in the evening), after meal. Duration of use of drug is established individually. If symptoms of a disease do not disappear after 5 days of use of drug and/or are followed by the increased temperature, it is necessary to see a doctor.

Features of use:

Not to use drug at that category of patients who cannot independently carry out this procedure (rinsing).
Drug does not influence ability to control of vehicles or work with mechanisms.
Drug contains 10% of ethanol (alcohol of ethyl 96%). Drug should be accepted not later than 30 min. prior to driving.

Side effects:

Burning, irritation and moderate dryness of a mucous membrane of an oral cavity, allergic reactions. At prolonged use change of flavoring feelings is possible. After drug phase-out side effects disappear.

Interaction with other medicines:

It is not described.

Contraindications:

Children's age up to 5 years.
Hypersensitivity to any of drug components.
Hypersensitivity, atrophic pharyngitis, pregnancy (I trimester).

Use at pregnancy and feeding by a breast:
There are no sufficient data concerning penetration of Hexetidinum through a placenta and in breast milk. Use of drug is possible during pregnancy if the potential advantage for mother exceeds risk for a fruit. In need of use of drug in the period of a lactation it is necessary to resolve an issue of the breastfeeding termination.

Overdose:

At an accidental proglatyvaniye of large amounts of drug emergence of nausea and vomiting is possible!
At overdose it is necessary to wash out a stomach and to appoint symptomatic therapy.

Storage conditions:

At a temperature not above 30 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children! Period of validity: 2 years. Not to use after a period of validity. A drug period of validity after opening of a bottle of 10 days.
