Pantogamum syrup

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: calcium гопантенат (Пантогам®) – 10,0 g; excipients: глицерол (in terms of 100%) 25,8 g, sorbite of 15,0 g, citric acid monohydrate of 0,1 g, Natrium benzoicum of 0,1 g, aspartame of 0,05 g, fragrance food the "Cherry 667" of 0,01 g, water purified – to 100 ml.
Description: colourless or slightly yellowish liquid with a cherry smell.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. The action spectrum of Pantogamum is connected with existence in its structure of piperidic acid. The mechanism of action is caused by a direct impact of Pantogamum on GAMKB – a receptor - a channel complex. Drug possesses nootropic and anticonvulsant action. Pantogamum increases resistance of a brain to a hypoxia and influence of toxic substances, stimulates anabolic processes in neurons, combines moderate sedative action with the soft stimulating effect, reduces motor excitability, activates intellectual and physical effeciency. Improves metabolism of GAMK at a chronic drunkenness and after ethanol cancellation. It is capable to inhibit
the acetylation reactions participating in mechanisms of an inactivation of novocaine and streptocides thanks to what prolongation of action of the last is reached. Causes braking patholologically of the raised vesical reflex and a tone of a detruzor.

Pharmacokinetics. Route of administration and doses:

Pantogamum syrup of 100 mg/ml is accepted inside in 15-30 min. after food. The single dose for adults usually makes 2,5 - 10 ml (0,25 – 1 g), for children - 2,5 – 5 ml (0,25 - 0,5 g); a daily dose for adults – 15 - 30 ml (1,5 - 3), for children – 7,5 – 30 ml (0,75 – 3 g). Depending on age and pathology of a nervous system the following range of doses is recommended to children: to children of the first year – 5 - 10 ml (0,5 - 1) a day, up to 3 years – 5 – 12,5 ml (0,5 – 1,25 g) a day, to children from 3rd to 7 years – 7,5-15 ml (0,75 - 1,5 g), are more senior than 7 years – 10 – 20 ml (1 - 2 g). Tactics of treatment provides building of a dose within 7 - 12 days, reception in the maximum dose for 15 - 40 and more days with gradual
dose decline before cancellation within 7 - 8 days. A course of treatment – 30 - 90 days (at individual diseases up to 6 months and more). At schizophrenia in a combination with psychotropic drugs - from 5 to 0 ml (0,5 - 3) a day. A therapy course - from 1 to 3 months. At epilepsy in an ombination with antikonvulsant - in a dose from 7,5 to 10 ml (0,75 - 1 g) in days. Urse of therapy - till 1 year and more. Contraindications:

Overdose:
