Tablet Pantogamum

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: calcium гопантенат (Пантогам®) 250 mg; excipients: methyl cellulose of 0,8 mg, calcium stearate of 3,1 mg, magnesium hydroxycarbonate of 46,8 mg, talc of 9,3 mg.

Description: tablets of white color, ploskotsilindrichesky, with a facet and risky.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. The action spectrum of Pantogama® is connected with existence in its structure of piperidic acid. The mechanism of action is caused by a direct impact of Pantogama® on a GAMKV-retseptor-kanalny complex. Drug possesses nootropic and anticonvulsant action. Пантогам® increases resistance of a brain to a hypoxia and influence of toxic substances, stimulates anabolic processes in neurons, combines moderate sedative action with the soft stimulating effect, reduces motor excitability, activates intellectual and physical effeciency. Improves metabolism of GAMK at a chronic drunkenness and after ethanol cancellation. It is capable to inhibit
the acetylation reactions participating in mechanisms of an inactivation of Procainum (novocaine) and streptocides thanks to what prolongation of action of the last is reached. Causes braking patholologically of the raised vesical reflex and a tone of a detruzor.

Pharmacokinetics. Пантогам® it is quickly soaked up from digestive tract, gets through a blood-brain barrier, the greatest concentration are created in a liver, kidneys, in a wall of a stomach and skin. Drug is not metabolized and removed in not changed look within 48 hours: 67,5% of the accepted dose – with urine, 28,5% – with a stake.

Indications to use:

Cognitive disturbances at organic lesions of a brain (including effects of neuroinfections and craniocereberal injuries) and neurotic frustration; schizophrenia with cerebral organic insufficiency; the cerebrovascular insufficiency caused by atherosclerotic changes of vessels of a brain; extrapyramidal disturbances (a myoclonus epilepsy, a chorea of Gentington, a hepatolenticular degeneration, Parkinson's disease, etc.), and also for treatment and prevention of the extrapyramidal syndrome (hyperkinetic and akinetic) caused by reception of neuroleptics; epilepsy with delay of mental processes in complex therapy with anticonvulsants; psychoemotional overloads, decrease in intellectual and physical effeciency, for improvement of concentration of attention and storing; neurogenic frustration of an urination (pollakiuria, imperative desires, imperative incontience of urine, enuresis); to children with perinatal encephalopathy, mental retardation of various degree of manifestation, with an arrest of development (mental, speech, motor or their combination), with various forms of cerebral palsy, at hyperkinetic frustration (a hyperactivity syndrome with deficit of attention), neurosis-like states (at stutter, preferential clonic form; tics). Drug is used at children is more senior than 3 years. At earlier age administration of drug in the form of syrup is recommended.

Route of administration and doses:

Inside in 15-30 minutes after food. The single dose for adults usually makes 0,25-1 g, for children – 0,25-0,5 g; a daily dose for adults – 1,5-3 g, for children – 0,75-3 g. A course of treatment – from 1 to 4 months, in some cases – up to 6 months. In 3-6 months carrying out a repeated course of treatment is possible. At epilepsy in a combination with anticonvulsants in a dose from 0,75 to 1 g a day. A course of treatment till 1 year and more. At an extrapyramidal antipsychotic syndrome in a combination with the carried-out therapy a daily dose to 3 g, treatment within several months.
At extrapyramidal hyperkinesias at patients with hereditary diseases of a nervous system in a combination with the carried-out therapy from 0,5 to 3 g a day. A course of treatment up to 4th and more months.
At effects of neuroinfections and craniocereberal injuries on 0,25 g 3-4 times a day.
For maintenance at the raised loadings and asthenic conditions of Pantogam® appoint 0,25 g 3 times a day.
For treatment of the extrapyramidal syndrome caused by reception of neuroleptics: the adult on 0,5-1 g 3 times a day, to children – on 0,25-0,5 g 3-4 times a day. Course of treatment 1-3 months.
At tics: to children on 0,25-0,5 g of 3-6 times a day, within 1-4 months. At disturbances of an urination: the adult on 0,5-1 g 2-3 times a day, to children on 0,25-0,5 g (the daily dose makes 25-50 mg/kg). Course of treatment from 1 to 3 months.
Drug is recommended to children with various pathology of a nervous system depending on age in a dose of 1-3 g. Tactics of purpose of drug: building of a dose within 7-12 days, reception in the maximum dose for 15-40 days and a gradual dose decline before cancellation of Pantogama® within 7-8 days. The break between course receptions of Pantogama®, as well as for any other nootropic means, makes from 1 to 3 month.
In the conditions of prolonged treatment co-administration of drug with others nootropic and excitants is not recommended. Taking into account nootropic effect of drug its reception is carried out preferably to morning and day time.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions (rhinitis, conjunctivitis, skin allergic reactions) are possible. In this case cancel drug. Undesirable reactions from TsNS are very seldom noted (hyper excitement, a sleep disorder or drowsiness, slackness, block, a headache, dizziness, noise in the head). In this case reduce a drug dose.

Interaction with other medicines:

Prolongs action of barbiturates, strengthens action of anticonvulsants, prevents by-effects of phenobarbital, carbamazepine, neuroleptics. The effect of Pantogama® amplifies in combination with glycine, etidronovy acid. Exponentiates effect of local anesthetics (Procainum).

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity, acute serious illness of kidneys, pregnancy, lactation.

Overdose:

Strengthening of symptomatology of by-effects (sleep disorders or drowsiness, noise in the head).
Treatment: absorbent carbon, gastric lavage, symptomatic therapy.

Storage conditions:

Period of validity 4 years. Not to use after the termination of a period of validity. In the dry, protected from light place at a temperature not above 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children.

Packaging:

Tablets of 250 mg. On 10 tablets in a blister strip packaging from a film of polyvinyl chloride and aluminum foil. 5 blister strip packagings together with the application instruction place in a pack from a cardboard.
