Furadonin Aveksima

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 50 mg of nitrofurantoin (furadonin).

Excipients: potato starch, silicon dioxide colloid (aerosil), stearic acid, polysorbate 80 (twin 80).

Antimicrobic means for treatment of infections of urinary tract.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Antimicrobic means, derivative means from group of nitrofurans, first of all for treatment of infections of urinary tract. Breaks protein synthesis in bacteria and permeability of a cellular membrane. It is active concerning gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Shigella dysenteria spp., Shigella flexneri spp., Shigella boydii spp., Shigella sonnei spp., Escherichia coli, Proteus spp.).

Pharmacokinetics. Absorption from a GIT - good. Bioavailability - 50% (food increases bioavailability). Speed of absorption depends on the sizes of crystals (the microcrystallic form is characterized by bystry solubility and speed of absorption, short time of achievement of Cmax in urine). Communication with proteins of plasma - 60%.

It is metabolized in a liver and muscular tissue. T1/2 - 20-25 min. Gets through a placenta, GEB, it is allocated with breast milk. It is removed completely by kidneys (30-50% - in an invariable look).

Indications to use:

— bacterial infections of urinary tract (pyelitis, pyelonephritis, urethritis, cystitis);

— prevention of infections at urological operations or inspection (a tsistoskopiya, catheterization, etc.).

Route of administration and doses:

Inside, washing down with a large amount of water, adult - 0.1-0.15 g, 3-4 times/days; to children - at the rate of 5-8 mg/kg/days, the daily dose is divided into 4 receptions. The highest doses for adults: one-time - 0.3 g, daily - 0.6 g.

At acute infections of urinary tract treatment duration - 7-10 days.

Preventive, antirecurrent treatment continues, depending on the nature of a disease, from 3 to 12 months. The daily dose in this case makes 1-2 mg/kg.

Features of use:

Use at pregnancy and feeding by a breast. Use of drug at pregnancy and during breastfeeding is contraindicated.

Use at abnormal liver functions. Drug use to patients with cirrhosis and chronic hepatitis proivopokazano.

Use at renal failures. Drug use is contraindicated to patients with a chronic renal failure.

Use for children. Drug use is forbidden to children under 3 years. To children is more senior than 3 years a dose appoint at the rate of 5-8 mg/kg/days, divide a daily dose into 4 receptions.

Influence of drug on performance of potentially dangerous types of activity requiring special attention and bystry reactions. During treatment it is necessary to be careful at the driving of motor transport and occupations other potentially dangerous types of activity demanding the increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions (at emergence of dizzinesses and drowsiness).

Side effects:

Nausea, vomiting, allergic reactions (volchanochnopodobny syndrome, arthralgia, mialgiya, anaphylaxis, fever, eosinophilia, rash), dizziness, headache, adynamy, nystagmus, drowsiness, intersticial changes in lungs, bronkhoobstruktivny syndrome, fever, cough, thorax pain, hepatitis, cholestatic syndrome, peripheral neuropathy, pancreatitis, pseudomembranous coloenteritis, it is rare - an abdominal pain, diarrhea.

Interaction with other medicines:

Simultaneous use of Acidum nalidixicum and the antacids containing magnesium trisilicate reduces antibacterial effect.

Incompatibility with ftorkhinolona.

The medicines blocking canalicular secretion reduce antibacterial effect (due to decrease in concentration of nitrofurantoin in urine) and increase toxicity (concentration in blood increases) drug.

Contraindications:

— hypersensitivity;

— chronic renal failure;

— heart failure of the II-III Art.;

— cirrhosis;

— chronic hepatitis;

— deficit glyukozo-6-fosfatdegidrogenazy;

— acute porphyria;

— pregnancy;

— lactation period;

— children's age up to 3 years.

Overdose:

Symptoms: vomiting.

Treatment: reception of a large amount of liquid leads to increase in removal of drug with urine. Dialysis is effective.

Storage conditions:

Drug should be stored in dry, protected from light and the place, unavailable to children, at a temperature not above 25 °C. Period of validity 4 years. On expiry date not to use drug.
