Mukosol

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 250 mg of a karbotsistein in 5 g of syrup.

Mucolytic and expectorant.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Action is caused by activation of sialine transferase (enzyme of scyphoid cells of a mucous membrane of bronchial tubes). Normalizes a quantitative ratio of acid and neutral sialomutsin of a bronchial secret: reduces amount of neutral glycopeptides, increases quantity of gidroksisialoglikopeptid. Reduces viscosity of a bronchial secret and separated from sinus bosoms, facilitates otkhozhdeny phlegms and slime, reduces cough. Promotes regeneration of a mucous membrane, normalizes its structure, reduces number of scyphoid cells, especially in terminal bronchial tubes, and, as a result, reduces production of slime. Recovers secretion immunological of active IgA (specific protection), improves mukotsiliarny clearance.

Pharmacokinetics. Absorption - bystry and almost full. Bioavailability – low (less than 10% of the accepted dose). TCmax in blood and in a mucous membrane –1,5 - 2 h, therapeutic concentration remains in blood during 8 h. Most longer is late in blood, a liver and a middle ear. In high concentration collects in a bronchial secret (17,5% of the accepted dose).

It is metabolized in a liver (has effect of "the first passing" through a liver). It is removed by kidneys (60-90% in not changed look, the rest – in the form of metabolites). T 1/2 are 2-3,15 h. Full removal happens in 3 days.

Indications to use:

The acute and chronic bronchopulmonary diseases which are followed by education by knitting, the hardly separated phlegm (tracheitis, bronchitis, a tracheobronchitis, bronchial asthma, a bronchoectatic disease) and slime (inflammatory diseases of a middle ear, nose and its adnexal bosoms - rhinitis, an adenoiditis, average otitis, sinusitis); preparation for a bronkhoskopiya and/or bronchography.

Route of administration and doses:

Drug is accepted inside. 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of syrup contains 0,25 g of a karbotsistein.

To children from 1 month to 2 years appoint 1/5 teaspoons (1,25 ml of syrup, or 0,05 g of a karbotsistein) 2 times a day.

To children from 2 to 5 years appoint 1/2 teaspoons (2,5 ml of syrup, or 0,125 g of a karbotsistein) 2-3 times a day.

Children are from 5 to 12 years old: appoint on 1 teaspoon (5 ml of syrup, or 0,25 g of a karbotsistein) - 2-3 times a day.

The adult appoint on the 3rd teaspoons (15 ml of syrup, or 0,75 g of a kabotsistein) - 2-3 times a day, at improvement of symptoms a dose it is recommended to lower to 2 teaspoons a day.

Duration of treatment should not exceed 8-10 days.

Features of use:

It is necessary to consider that 1 tablespoon of syrup contains 6 g of sucrose.

Administration of drug at renal failures, an acute glomerulonephritis, cystitis is not recommended. Mukosol it is necessary to apply with care at stomach ulcer and a duodenum in the anamnesis.

Use during pregnancy: with care it is possible to use drug during II and III trimesters of pregnancy under strict observation of the doctor.

Side effects:

Mukosol is usually well had. Emergence of rash on skin is in some cases possible.

There are rare messages on developing of gastrointestinal bleeding during treatment karbotsisteiny.

Interaction with other medicines:

Increases efficiency glucocorticoid (mutually) and antibacterial therapy of inflammatory diseases of upper and lower respiratory tracts. Exponentiates broncholitic effect of theophylline. Activity of a karbotsistein is weakened by antibechic and atropinopodobny means.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug components, stomach ulcer and a duodenum (in an aggravation phase), renal failures, an acute glomerulonephritis, cystitis, pregnancy (the I trimester), the lactation period, children's age up to 1 month.
