Transparent liquid of orange color with a banana smell.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Mucolytic and expectorant action is caused by activation of sialine transferase – enzyme of scyphoid cells of a mucous membrane of bronchial tubes. Normalizes a quantitative ratio of acid and neutral sialomutsin of a bronchial secret, recovers viscosity and elasticity of slime, facilitates its otkhozhdeniye. Promotes regeneration of a mucous membrane, normalizes its structure, reduces production of slime, stirs up activity of a ciliate epithelium, improves mukotsiliarny clearance. Recovers secretion immunological of active IGA (specific protection) and the number of sulphhydryl groups of components of slime (nonspecific protection).

Pharmacokinetics. The maximum concentration in blood serum and in a mucous membrane of respiratory tracts is reached in 2-3 h after intake and remains in a mucous membrane during 8 h. It is removed preferential by kidneys, partially in not changed look, partially in the form of metabolites.

Indications to use:

Acute and chronic bronchopulmonary diseases, (tracheitis, bronchitis, a tracheobronchitis, bronchial asthma, a bronchoectatic disease) and inflammatory diseases of a nasal cavity, a nasopharynx, okolonosovy bosoms and a middle ear (rhinitis, an adenoiditis, sinusitis, average otitis) which are followed by formation of the viscous, hardly separated secret (a phlegm, slime); preparation for a bronkhoskopiya and/or bronchography.

Route of administration and doses:

For intake.

Before use of drug it is necessary to consult with the doctor.

5 ml of syrup (1 teaspoon) contain 100 mg of a karbotsistein.

Children aged from 2 up to 5 years:

on 5 ml, 2 times a day. The dosage should not exceed 200 mg/day.

Children are more senior than 5 years:

on 5 ml, 3 times a day. The dosage should not exceed 300 mg/day.

Treatment should not continue more than 8-10 days without consultation with the doctor.

Features of use:

Sick diabetes mellitus to take into account that the content of sucrose on
5 ml (one teaspoon of syrup) – 3,5 g.

Side effects:

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, pain in epigastriums, a meteorism, gastrointestinal bleeding, dizziness, weakness, an indisposition, in isolated cases - allergic reactions (an itch, urticaria, a dieback, a Quincke's disease).

If any of the side effects specified in the instruction are aggravated,
or you noticed any other side effects which are not specified in the instruction, report about it to the doctor.

Interaction with other medicines:

When sharing with glucocorticosteroids synergy action is noted. Increases efficiency of antibacterial therapy of inflammatory diseases of upper and lower respiratory tracts. Strengthens broncholitic effect of theophylline. Activity of a karbotsistein is weakened by antibechic and atropinopodobny means.

Contraindications:

· hypersensitivity to a karbotsistein or other components of drug;

· a peptic ulcer of a stomach and duodenum in an aggravation stage;

· a chronic glomerulonephritis (in an aggravation phase), cystitis;

· children's age up to 2 years.

It is necessary to be careful at administration of drug at a chronic glomerulonephritis (in the anamnesis), a peptic ulcer of a stomach and a duodenum (in the anamnesis).

Overdose:

Symptoms: gastralgia, nausea, diarrhea. Treatment: symptomatic.

Storage conditions:

To store at a temperature not above 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children. Period of validity 2 years. Not to apply after the period of validity specified on packaging.

Syrup for children of 20 mg/ml.

On 125 ml of syrup in the transparent glass bottle closed by the plastic screwed cover with plastic laying and with opening control. One bottle with a measured glass from polypropylene and with the application instruction in a cardboard pack.
