Taurine

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 40 mg of taurine in 1 ml of solution.

Excipients: water for injections, methylparahydroxybenzoate (нипагин).

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Taurine is the cataract medicine making metabolic impact.

Drug represents sulfur-containing amino acid which is formed in a human body in the course of cysteine processing. It stimulates regeneration and a reparation at diseases of a cataract which are followed by disturbance of metabolism in eye fabrics, and also at the diseases having dystrophic character.

Drops promote activation of exchange and power processes, normalize functions of cellular membranes. Use of drug provides improvement of course of nervous impulses and preservation of composition of cytoplasm thanks to accumulation of Ca2 + and K+.

Indications to use:

Eye drops Taurine are used as a stimulator of recovery (reparative) processes at different types of a cataract (senile, traumatic, diabetic, beam), dystrophy and injuries of a cornea.

Route of administration and doses:

At a cataract drug is used in the form of installations from 2 to 4 times a day on 1-2 drops by 3 months. The course of treatment can be repeated after one month.

At dystrophic diseases and injuries of a cornea of a drop are applied within one month in similar doses.

Features of use:

In relation to active agent of drug people with hypersensitivity to thiazide diuretics, furosemide and sulphonylurea, and also karboangidraza inhibitors can have hypersensitivity.

Side effects:

Can cause allergic reactions.

Interaction with other medicines:

Taurine does not enter interaction with other medicines.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to separate components of eye drops, and also age up to 18 years.

Use during pregnancy and a lactation. On doctor's orders Taurine is used in therapeutic doses provided that the effect expected from drug use is higher, than risk of development of diseases. There is no sufficient experience of use of eye drops during these periods.

Storage conditions:

Taurine is stored in the place protected from light at a temperature of 8 °C - 20 °s.srok of the validity - in packaging 3 years. Use of Taurine after a period of validity is contraindicated.

Packaging:

Is issued in the polyethylene bottles with a capacity of 5 ml and 10 ml which are hermetically closed traffic jams droppers and covers. Each separate bottle has cardboard packaging and the application instruction. Also packagings on 50 bottles with 50 instructions in a cardboard box are issued.
