Calcium + Vitrum® D3 Vitamin

General characteristics. Structure:

Akvtiny substances: Carbonate calcium (from sinks of oysters) 1250 mg (there correspond 500 mg of elementary calcium); D3 Vitamin (kolekaltsiferol) 200 ME *
 
* – 5 mkg of a kolekaltsiferol are equivalent

Excipients: magnesium stearate, croscarmellose sodium, silicon dioxide, cellulose microcrystallic, gipromelloza, triacetin, titanium dioxide, Riboflavinum, dye blue brilliant FCF (E133).

Description: tablets of an oval form, coated light green color.

Pharmacological properties:

The combined drug regulating exchange of calcium and phosphorus in an organism.

Reduces a resorption (rassasyvaniye) and increases density of a bone tissue, compensating for the deficiency of calcium and D3 vitamin of an organism.

D3 vitamin increases absorption of calcium in digestive tract and its binding in a bone tissue.

Use of calcium and D3 vitamin interferes with increase in production of parathyroid hormone (PTG) which is a stimulator of the raised bone resorption (washing away of calcium from bones).

D3 vitamin is soaked up in a small intestine. Calcium is soaked up in the ionized form in proximal department of a small intestine by means of active, D-vitamin of the dependent transport mechanism.

Indications to use:

It is applied as treatment-and-prophylactic means:

- for completion of deficit of calcium and/or D3 vitamin during intensive growth at teenage and youthful age (for achievement of the maximum peak of bone weight), to women during pregnancy and feeding by a breast;

- for prevention and basic therapy of osteoporosis (menopausal, senile, steroid, idiopathic, etc.) and its complications (fractures of bones);

- for completion of a lack of calcium and D3 vitamin at elderly people.

Route of administration and doses:

Before use consult with the doctor.

Inside. As prophylactic to adults and children 12 years, to pregnant women and the feeding women on 1-2 tablets a day are more senior. For increase in absorption of calcium it is preferable to wash down a tablet with acid drink (orange or lemon juice).

For course prevention of osteoporosis on 2 tablets a day, one morning and one evening, it is preferential during food.

For therapy of osteoporosis a course and a dosage according to recommendations of the doctor.

Features of use:

- during treatment it is necessary to control constantly removal of calcium with urine and concentration of calcium and creatinine in plasma (in case of the calciuria exceeding 7,5 mmol/days (300 mg/days) it is necessary to reduce a dose or to stop reception);

- children up to 12 years are recommended to use drug only on doctor's orders;

- in order to avoid overdose it is necessary to consider additional intake of D3 vitamin from other sources. Not to apply along with vitamin complexes, calciferous and D3 vitamin;

- at elderly people the need for calcium makes 1,5 g/days, in D3 500-1000 vitamin of ME/days.

USE DURING PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING

The need for calcium and vitamin D at pregnancy and during breastfeeding increases. At administration of drug it is necessary to consider additional receipt in an organism of calcium and vitamin D from other sources and to exercise constant medical control.

In order to avoid toxic impacts on a fruit it is not recommended to accept more than 1500 mg of calcium and 600 ME D3 vitamins a day. Calcium and vitamin D get into breast milk.

Side effects:

Possible allergic reactions to drug components. Digestive tract dysfunction (locks, diarrhea, a meteorism, nausea, an abdominal pain) can be observed.

In case of long reception increase in content of calcium in blood and urine is possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

- activity of D3 vitamin can decrease at its simultaneous use with Phenytoinum or barbiturates;

- at simultaneous treatment by cardiac glycosides control of an ECG and clinical state since calcium strengthens effect of cardiac glycosides is necessary;

- drug slows down absorption of antibiotics of group of tetracycline, acetylsalicylic acid and other salicylates, streptocides, beta adrenoblockers and anticoagulants of indirect action. In this regard drug is recommended to be used in 2 hours or in 2 hours after reception of other medicines;

- at simultaneous use of diuretics from group of tiazid the risk of emergence of a hypercalcemia increases;

- Colestyraminum, laxative drugs (paraffin oil) reduce vitamin D absorption.

Contraindications:

- hypersensitivity to one of drug components;           

- hypervitaminosis of D;

- the expressed renal failures;

- a hypercalcemia (the increased content of calcium in blood - at persons with the strengthened function of epithelial bodies);

- a hypercalcuria (the increased release of calcium with urine);

- urolithiasis (formation of calcic stones);

- the decalcifying tumors (a myeloma, bone metastasises, a sarcoidosis);

- the osteoporosis caused by an immobilization;

- pulmonary tuberculosis (active form);

- children's age up to 12 years.

Overdose:

Symptoms of acute or chronic overdose is the hypercalcemia and/or a hypercalcuria which are expressed by anorexia, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, weakness, a headache. In these cases administration of drug is recommended to be stopped. It is necessary to enter a large amount of liquid into an organism and to adhere to a diet with limited amount of calcium. At emergence of symptoms of overdose it is necessary to see a doctor.

Storage conditions:

Term godnosti:5 years. Not to use upon termination of a period of validity. In the dry place at a temperature of 10-30 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children.
