General characteristics. Structure:
Main physical and chemical properties: ointment of white color with a menthol smell.
Structure: 1 g of ointment contains menthol of racemic 25 mg, novocaine (hydrochloride Procainum) of 10 mg, anaesthesin (benzocaine) of 10 mg.
Excipients: a liquid paraffin, vaseline, T-2 emulsifier, the water purified.
Pharmacological properties:
Pharmacodynamics. Menovazan is the combined drug and its properties are caused by effect of active ingredients. In particular, thanks to the selection effect of menthol on cold receptors, ointment causes a cryesthesia, and irritant action can be replaced by insignificant anesthesia. Reflex menthol changes a tone of vessels. It concerns both superficial vessels, and vessels of more deeply located fabrics and internals. Novocaine has rather expressed anesthetizing activity. It does not change a tone of vessels. Anaesthesin causes surface anesthesia. Association of the specified ingredients in one drug provides ability to cause reversible disturbance of a vozbuzhdayemost and conductivity of nervous receptors and conductors at direct contact with them, to show the irritating and distracting action which cornerstone the interference of excitement of nerve centers and reorganization of a painful dominant is, to oppress excitement of membranes of nerve fibril, to reduce action potential amplitude, to raise a threshold of depolarization of a membrane of nerve fibril, to slow down the speed of development of a rising phase of action potential, to reduce extent of excitement in nervous elements.
Pharmacokinetics. It was not studied.
Indications to use:
Dermatosis which is followed by an itch; neuralgia, mialgiya, arthralgias.
Route of administration and doses:
Apply outwardly 2–3 times a day to grinding of painful sites of skin. The course of treatment depends on a form and course of a disease, and also on the nature of the accompanying therapy. The maximum daily dose makes 9 g.
Features of use:
Not to apply on skin with manifestations of allergic reaction. In the period of a lactation, and also children have early age of no experience of use of Menovazan for pregnant women.
Side effects:
Drug is usually well transferred, but in case of prolonged use short-term dizziness, the general weakness, a lowering of arterial pressure, allergic reactions, contact dermatitis are possible.
Interaction with other medicines:
It is not recommended to apply along with other mestodeystvuyushchy drugs.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to drug components.
Overdose:
Allergic reactions of skin (dermatitis, skin peeling) can develop.
Treatment. At emergence of symptoms of an allergy to cancel drug.
Storage conditions:
To store at a temperature of 8-15 °C, in the place, unavailable to children. A period of validity — 3 years.
