Validol

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 1 tablet contains 60 mg of menthol in a mentolpodobny cover.

Pharmacological properties:

Validol has moderate reflex vasodilating effect, possesses sedation.

Effect of drug is substantially caused by the reflex reactions connected with irritation of sensitive nerve terminations. The irritation of receptors of mucous membranes is followed by stimulation of education and release of the enkephalins, endorphines, dinorfinums and peptides playing an important role in regulation of pain, permeability of vessels and other processes. Under the influence of the irritating substances some other endogenous physiologically active connections is released (a histamine, kinina and another).

At sublingual use effect of drug develops in 5 minutes.

Indications to use:

Neurosises; hysteria; neurocirculatory dystonia on cardial type; stenocardia (as a part of a combination therapy); sea and aeroembolism (symptomatic therapy).

Route of administration and doses:

Apply sublingual. The tablet should be kept under language before full dissolution. The single dose for adults makes 1-2 tablets, daily — 2-4 tablets. If necessary the daily dose can be increased.

Features of use:

Validol is an effective remedy at the headache caused by reception of nitrates. It is necessary to appoint with care a sick diabetes mellitus. Validol can be used as first aid at stings of bees and wasps. It is necessary to moisten Tabulettae Validoli and to rub the place of a sting.

Side effects:

Seldom — insignificant nausea, dacryagogue, dizziness, a headache.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug.
