Атифин®

General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent: 10,0 mg of a terbinafin of a hydrochloride.

Vspomogatelna of substance: sodium hydroxide, benzyl alcohol, sorbitan stearate, tsetit palmitate, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, isopropyl myristate, the purified water.

Antifungal cream of a broad spectrum of activity of topical administration.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. The antifungal drug for external use possessing a wide range of antifungal activity. In small concentration тербинафин has fungicidal effect concerning dermatophytes (Trichophyton rubrum, T.mentagrophytes, T.verrucosum, T.violaceum, T.tonsurans, Microsporum canis, Epidermophyton floccosum), mold (for example, Scopulariopsis brevicaulis) and certain dimorphous mushrooms (Pityrosporum orbiculare). Activity concerning barmy mushrooms (in the main Candida albicans), depending on their look, can be fungicidal or fungistatic.

Terbinafin in unusual way changes an early stage of the biosynthesis of sterol happening in mushrooms. It leads to deficit of ergosterol and intracellular accumulation of squalene that causes death of a cell of a mushroom. Action of a terbinafin is carried out by inhibition of the enzyme of a skvalenepoksidaza located on a cellular membrane of a mushroom.

Terbinafin does not exert impact on system of an isoenzyme of P450 cytochrome at the person and, respectively, on metabolism of hormones or other medicines.

Pharmacokinetics. At external use absorption - less than 5%. Has insignificant systemic action.

Indications to use:

Prevention and treatment of the fungal infections of skin caused by sensitive activators including mycoses of feet (foot "fungus"), an inguinal epidermophitia (tinea cruris), fungal infections of smooth skin of a body (tinea corporis) caused by such dermatophytes as Trichophyton (including, T. rubrum, T. mentagrophytes, T.verrucosum, T.violaceum), Microsporum canis and Epidermophyton floccosum.

Barmy infections of skin, generally those which are caused by the sort Candida (for example, Candida albicans), in particular an intertrigo.

Multi-colored deprive (Pityriasis versicolor), the caused Pityrosporum orbiculare (also known under the name Malassezia furfur).

Route of administration and doses:

Outwardly.
Adults and children since 12 years. Before putting cream it is necessary to clear and dry affected areas carefully. Cream is applied by 1 or 2 times a day with a thin layer on the affected skin, adjacent sites also slightly rub. At the infections which are followed by an intertrigo (under mammary glands, in interdigital intervals, between buttocks, in inguinal area), sites of application of cream can be covered with a gauze, especially for the night.

If in 1-2 weeks of treatment improvement signs are not noted, it is necessary to carry out verification of the diagnosis.

Elderly patients - dose adjustment is not required.

Features of use:

With care: liver and/or renal failure, alcoholism, oppression of a marrowy hemopoiesis, tumor, metabolism disease, occlusal diseases of vessels of extremities.

The drug Atifin® cream is intended only for external use. Reduction of expressiveness of clinical manifestations is usually noted in the first days of use of the drug Atifin®. In case of irregular use or its premature termination the risk of a recurrence of an infection is possible.

During use of the drug Atifin® it is necessary to follow the general rules of hygiene for prevention of a reinfitsirovaniye (through linen, footwear).

At accidental hit of drug in eyes, they should be washed out immediately flowing water, and in case of development of the resistant phenomena of irritation it is necessary to consult with the doctor.

At development of allergic reactions use of the drug Atifin® needs to be stopped.

In pilot studies on animals of teratogenic properties of a terbinafin it was not revealed. So far it was not reported about any malformations of a fruit against the background of drug Atifin® use. 

Use of the drug Atifin® at pregnancy is possible if the potential advantage for mother exceeds possible risk for the fruit/child.

Terbinafin gets into breast milk in very small amount.
Cream cannot be applied on mammary glands during breastfeeding.

The drug Atifin® does not influence control of the vehicles and other technical devices demanding the increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.

Side effects:

In sites of application of a terbinafin reddening, an itch or burning sensation can appear. Emergence of allergic reactions is possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

At topical administration of a terbinafin about its interaction with other medicines it was not reported.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to a terbinafin or to other components of drug, children's age up to 12 years (lack of sufficient experience of use).

Overdose:

About drug Atifin® overdose cases cream it was not reported. If accidentally drug is accepted inside (despite a dosage form), the following symptoms are possible: headache, nausea, abdominal pain, dizziness.

Treatment: inside absorbent carbon; if necessary - symptomatic therapy.

Storage conditions:

To store at a temperature not above 25 °C in the place, unavailable to children.
