General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: water for injections.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Solvent. In a body of the person water is necessary for continuous exchange processes. In normal conditions water is emitted with urine, a stake, with then and at breath. Loss of liquid with then, at breath and happens to fecal masses irrespective of administration of liquid. Maintenance of adequate hydration demands 30-45 ml/kg/days of water from adults, children have 45-100 ml/kg, and at babies – 100-165¼½/kg.

Water for injections serves for preparation of infusion and injection solutions, providing optimal conditions for compatibility and efficiency of substrates and water.

Pharmacokinetics. At administration of constantly alternating water and electrolytes maintenance of a homeostasis is carried out by kidneys.

Indications to use:

As the carrier or the diluting solution for preparation of sterile infusion (injection) solutions from powders, liofilizat and concentrates. It is applied for the purpose of preparation of the sterile solutions intended for hypodermic, intramuscular or intravenous administration just before use.

Outwardly for washing of wounds and moistening of a dressing material.

Route of administration and doses:

The dose and rate of administering have to correspond to instructions on a dosage of soluble medicines. Preparation of solutions of medicines with use of water has to be made for injections in sterile conditions (opening of ampoules, filling of the syringe and tanks with medicine).

Features of use:

Water for injections cannot be directly injected or entered in the form of infusion due to the lack of substances with low osmotic pressure (risk of hemolysis!).

Interaction with other medicines:

When mixing with other medicines (infusion solutions, concentrates for infusion preparation; injection solutions, powders, dry matters for preparation of an injection) direct vision on compatibility is necessary (chemical or therapeutic incompatibility can take place).

Contraindications:

Water as solvent of medicines is not applied to injections if as obligatory for some of them other solvent is specified.

Storage conditions:

Period of validity - 5 years. Not to apply after the expiry date specified on packaging. To store at a temperature from 5 to 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children.

Solvent for preparation of dosage forms for injections. On 1 ml, 1,5 ml, 2 ml, 5 ml, 10 ml in ampoules of neutral glass or in ampoules polymeric. On 5, 10 ampoules of neutral glass with the application instruction in a box. On 5, 10 ampoules polymeric with the application instruction in a pack. On 100 ampoules polymeric with application instructions in group packaging for hospitals.
