Water for injections

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: the water purified for injections.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Water - the most universal solvent, a basis not only the most various transfusion drugs, but also biological liquids and fabrics (blood, a lymph, plasma of cells, etc.), is necessary for continuous exchange processes.

In normal conditions water is emitted with urine, a stake, with then and at breath. Loss of liquid with then, at breath and happens to fecal masses irrespective of administration of liquid. Maintenance of adequate hydration demands 30-45 ml/kg/days of water from adults, and children have 45-100 ml/kg, babies have 100-165 ml/kg.

Water for injections serves for preparation of infusion and injection solutions, providing optimal conditions for compatibility and efficiency of substrates and water. Water for injections - the hypotonic environment in relation to body tissues therefore in pure form causes a little bigger irritation, than isotonic solutions or, prepared on the basis of water for injections, solutions (for parenteral administration, eye drops, etc.).

At introduction to a pure vein for injections there can come hemolysis, however, slow maintaining a small amount has practically no such effect. Therefore water for injections is safe as solvent of the drugs (according to the application instruction) prepared with water for injections.

Indications to use:

As the carrier or the diluting solution for preparation of sterile infusion (injection) solutions from powders, liofilizat and concentrates. It is applied for the purpose of preparation of the sterile solutions intended for hypodermic, intramuscular or intravenous administration just before use.

Outwardly for washing of wounds and moistening of a dressing material.

Route of administration and doses:

Intravenously, kapelno, in the form of "shock" therapy or an injection, according to the instruction on use of the added infusion solutions, concentrates, concentrates for preparation of infusion, injection solutions, powders and dry matter for preparation of an injection. The daily dose and speed of injection have to correspond to instructions on a dosage of the added medicines.

Features of use:

Do not mix with water Solutio oleosa for injections, outside means for cauterization. Means which concentration has to remain in certain borders dilute with water for injections only in the specified limits.

Water for injections cannot be directly injected or entered in the form of infusion due to the lack of substances with low osmotic pressure (risk of hemolysis!).

Interaction with other medicines:

Incompatibility of medicines with water practically does not meet as if substance is incompatible with water, it will be incompatible with the water environment of an organism.

When mixing with other medicines (infusion solutions, concentrates for infusion preparation; injection solutions, powders, dry matters for preparation of an injection) direct vision on compatibility is necessary (chemical or therapeutic incompatibility can take place).

Contraindications:

Water as solvent of medicines is not applied to injections if as obligatory for some of them other solvent is specified.

Storage conditions:

To store at a temperature from 5 to 25 °C, in the place, unavailable to children. Freezing is not allowed.
Period of validity - 4 years. Not to apply after the expiry date specified on packaging.

Packaging:

Solvent for preparation of dosage forms for injections on 0,5 ml, 1 ml, 2 ml, 3 ml, 5 ml, 10 ml in ampoules or on 25 ml or 50 ml in bottles glass or in bottles glass with a capacity of 50 ml. On 10 ampoules with the application instruction, a knife ampoule or the scarificator ampoule in a pack or a box from a cardboard. On 5 ampoules with a capacity of 1 ml, 2 ml, 5 ml or 10 ml in cassette planimetric packaging. On 2 cassette planimetric packagings with the application instruction, a knife ampoule or the scarificator ampulyyony in a pack from a cardboard. On 5 ampoules with a capacity of 1 ml or 2 ml in a blister strip packaging. On 2 konyoturny strip packagings with the application instruction, a knife ampoule or the scarificator ampoule in a pack from a cardboard. When packaging the ampoules having a ring of a break or a point for opening the knife ampoule or the scarificator is not put. 

On 1 bottle or a bottle with the application instruction in a pack from a cardboard. The complete set dry dosage forms of drugs in the corresponding quantities is possible.
