General characteristics. Structure:

Description: drops for intake in the form of the transparent, slightly viscous, colourless or poorly painted liquid.

Active ingredient: 1 ml (15 drops) of sodium пикосульфат 7.5 mg;

Excipients: sorbitol, propylene glycol, water for and.

Pharmacological properties:

The laxative drug stimulating an intestines peristaltics. The active form of drug which is formed by hydrolysis under the influence of intestinal microorganisms directly excites nervous structures of an intestinal wall therefore advance of intestinal contents accelerates, absorption of electrolytes and water decreases.

Action comes in 10-12 h after reception.

 

Pharmacokinetics. After intake it is not soaked up from a GIT and is not exposed to hepatoenteric circulation.

Indications to use:

— atonic lock;

— regulation of a chair (hemorrhoids, proctitis, anus cracks);

— preparation for surgeries, tool and X-ray inspections.

Route of administration and doses:

Drug is appointed inside, before going to bed.

For adults the initial dose makes 10 drops, at obstipation - to 30 drops. For children 4 years an initial dose - 5-8 drops are more senior. Depending on the gained effect the dose at the subsequent receptions is increased or reduced.

It is not necessary to use drug daily more than 10 days without medical control.

Side effects:

Are possible: diarrhea, abdominal pains, dehydration, disturbances of water and electrolytic balance, weakness, spasms, decrease in the ABP.

Interaction with other medicines:

Increase in sensitivity to cardiac glycosides is possible.

GKS and diuretics at simultaneous use with Slabikap increase risk of development of electrolytic disturbances.

Antibiotics of a broad spectrum of activity reduce laxative action of Slabikap.

Contraindications:

— intestinal impassability;

— the restrained hernia;

— acute inflammatory diseases of abdominal organs;

— peritonitis;

— abdominal pains of not clear genesis;

— bleedings from a GIT;

— metrorrhagia;

— cystitis;

— heavy dehydration;

— spastic lock;

— children's age up to 4 years;

— pregnancy (I trimester);

— hypersensitivity to drug components.

With care it is necessary to appoint drug in the period of a lactation.

Use for children

Overdose:

Symptoms: strengthening of side effects is possible. Besides, at chronic overdose development of ischemia of a mucous membrane of a large intestine, a secondary hyper aldosteronism, urolithiasis, defeat of renal tubules is possible.

Treatment: the gastric lavage, correction of disturbances of water and electrolytic balance, appoint antispasmodics.

Storage conditions:

Drug should be stored protected from light, the place, unavailable to children, at a temperature not above 20 °C. A period of validity - 2 years.
