Benzyl benzoate, emulsion for external use of 20%, фл. on 50 g.

General characteristics. Structure:

Main physical and chemical properties: an emulsion of white color with a slight specific smell; structure: 100 g of an emulsion contain benzyl benzoate – 20 g; excipients: emulsifier No. 1, the water purified.

Pharmacological properties:

Drug has protivopedikulezny activity and acaricidal effect on different types of mites, including scabby. Death of louses occurs in 2-5 h, ticks – in 7-32 min.

Indications to use:

The emulsion of benzyl benzoate of 20% is applied at therapy of itch, red eels and a demodicosis, a chromophytosis, fat seborrhea, pediculosis.

Route of administration and doses:

The emulsion of benzyl benzoate is applied outwardly locally (before use drug needs to be shaken up).
At treatment of itch and chromophytosis before use of an emulsion it is necessary to take a shower. Plentifully moisten with an emulsion a gauze or cotton plug and rub in skin; at first process hands, then legs and a trunk. Hands after processing should not be washed within 3 hours. After the end of processing of the patient puts on fresh linen; makes change of bedding. Processing is done 1 time a day within 3 days. After the termination of a course of treatment of the patient takes a shower and makes change of linen. If necessary the course of treatment is repeated.
At treatment of red eels and a demodicosis the emulsion of benzyl benzoate of 20% is applied with a thin layer on face skin of 3 - 5 times a day, protecting eyes from drug hit. Duration of treatment is defined by dynamics of clarification of integuments, stopping of inflammatory process, the termination of an itch.
At treatment of fat seborrhea drug is applied with a thin layer on a pilar part of the head for 30 - 40 minutes then the head is washed. The procedure is carried out by 2 - 3 times a week.
At treatment of a pediculosis the emulsion is applied on a pilar part of the head, slightly rubbing in skin and hair; the head is tied a kerchief. In 30 minutes drug is washed away flowing water and rinse warm 5% vinegar solution. After the described procedure hair are washed with soap or shampoo and for removal of nits combed a fine-tooth comb. Efficiency of processing is defined in a day, and if necessary the procedure is repeated. 
To children up to 5 years drug is dissolved with boiled water concerning 1:1.

Features of use:

To avoid hit in eyes.
Disinfecting of next-to-skin and bed linen, outerwear and headdresses is obligatory. 
Before an initiation of treatment reasonablly sick to take a shower for mechanical removal from the surface of leather of mites, and also for an epidermis blanket loosening (for drug penetration simplification). 
After each forced washing of hands it is necessary to process them again. 

Side effects:

When processing face skin and skin folds there can be a feeling of easy burning, erubescence, allergic reactions.

Interaction with other medicines:

Interaction of an emulsion of benzyl benzoate with other medicines is not known.

Contraindications:

Pustulous diseases of skin, individual intolerance of benzyl benzoate, pregnancy, lactation period.

Overdose:

In cases of overdose strengthening of side effects of drug is possible.

Storage conditions:

Store at the room temperature of 15 °C – 25 °C. 
Period of validity – 2 years.
