Description:
Hypopituitarism — a disease which results from decrease or full switching off of function of a front share of a hypophysis.

Hypopituitarism symptoms:
Symptoms and current of a hypopituitarism — the most precursory symptom — decrease in sexual desire and potentiality, disturbance of a menstrual cycle, up to complete cessation of periods. A hair loss in axillary hollows and on a pubis. Skin is pale, wax-like, body temperature is reduced. Drowsiness, fatigue, loss of interest to surrounding and to themselves are characteristic. Tendency to hypoglycemic states — intolerance of hunger at small appetite, the patient it is exhausted, anemia often develops. At children the disease is shown by dwarfism, a delay of physical and sexual development.
Hypopituitarism reasons:
Reasons: brain tumor; vascular disorders (puerperal, etc. bleedings, aneurisms, arteritis, hemorrhages in a hypophysis); specific diseases (tuberculosis, sarcoidosis, syphilis, encephalitis, meningitis); skull injuries; inborn lack of a hypophysis.
Treatment of the Hypopituitarism:
At tumors — surgical, rentgeno-, a gamma therapy with the subsequent replacement therapy which is carried out for life with the purpose to recover the normal level of hormones in an organism. The affected hypophysis does not provide their development in other closed glands (sexual, thyroid, adrenal glands). Apply — cortisol (adrenal gland hormone), Thyreoidinum (hormone of a thyroid gland), men have male sex hormones, women have female sex hormones, at children treatment is carried out by a growth hormone (somatotropic hormone) and the anabolic means providing growth and development of bones of a skeleton and muscles.
