Aminocapronic acid of 5%

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 50 mg of aminocapronic acid, 9 g of sodium of chloride.

Excipients: water for injections to 1 l.

Medicinal hemostatic.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Aminocapronic acid oppresses a blood fibrinolysis. Blocking plasminogen activators and partially oppressing effect of plasmin, aminocapronic acid has specific styptic effect at the bleedings connected with increase in a fibrinolysis. Besides, aminocapronic acid slows down the activating action of Streptokinasa, urokinase and fabric kinases on a fibrinolysis, neutralizes effects of kallikrein, trypsin and hyaluronidase, reduces permeability of capillaries.

Pharmacokinetics. At intravenous administration action is shown in 15 — 20 minutes. Drug is quickly removed by kidneys: about 40 — 60% of the entered quantity in 4 hours are allocated with urine in not changed look. At disturbance of secretory function of kidneys there is a delay of removal of aminocapronic acid owing to what its concentration sharply increases in blood.

Indications to use:

Drug is used for a stop of bleedings at surgical interventions and various morbid conditions at which fibrinolitic activity of blood and fabrics is increased: after lung operations; prostatic, pancreatic and thyroid glands; at premature amotio of normally located placenta; to a long delay in a uterus of a dead fruit; liver diseases; acute pancreatitis; hypoplastic anemia.

Aminocapronic acid is applied also at massive transfusions of stored blood if there is a possibility of development of a secondary hypofibrinogenemia.

Route of administration and doses:

The drug is administered intravenously kapelno to 100 ml. If necessary repeat injections with intervals of 4 h, entering 1 g.

With acid solution aminocaproic simultaneous administration of solution of glucose, hydrolyzates, antishock solutions is allowed. At an acute fibrinolysis in addition enter fibrinogen.

At purpose of aminocapronic acid it is necessary to control fibrinolitic activity of blood and content of fibrinogen.

Intravenous administration of drug is recommended to be made under control of a koagulogramma.

Features of use:

Aminocapronic acid should be applied with care at disturbances of cerebral circulation.

There are data on inexpediency of use of aminocapronic acid for women for the purpose of prevention of the raised blood losses at childbirth in connection with a possibility of tromboembolic episodes in a puerperal period.

Side effects:

At drug use in some cases perhaps: dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, easy catarrh of upper respiratory tracts. At reduction of a dose by-effects usually pass.

Interaction with other medicines:

The effect is reduced by anticoagulants (direct, indirect), antiagregant.
