General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredients: folic acid – 0,001 g or 0,005 g;

Pharmacological properties:

Folic acid belongs to vitamins of group B and in a human body is synthesized by intestinal microflora. As endo-, and exogenous folic acid is recovered to tetrahydrofolic acid - the coenzyme necessary for many processes of metabolism. Participates in synthesis of amino acids, nucleic acids, pyrimidines, purines, sincaline exchange. Together with B12 vitamin (cyanocobalamine) stimulates hemopoiesis process, in particular, an erythrogenesis. It is necessary for normal development of other blood cells, including, education and maturing of megaloblasts. Braking of transition megaloblastichesky in a normoblastic phase of a hemopoiesis is a consequence of deficit of folic acid.

Pharmacokinetics. Actively is soaked up, remains in a liver, it is removed with urine.

Indications to use:

Folic acid appoint as an erythrogenesis stimulator at macrocytic anemias, in particular, megaloblastichesky - at pregnant women, for treatment a spra for the purpose of normalization of a hemogenesis, elimination or reduction of clinical displays of a disease. Drug is also used at the anemia and a leukopenia caused by the ionizing radiation, chemicals, including, drugs at anemias, as a result of a resection of a stomach or a part of intestines, the megaloblastichesky anemias caused by tuberculosis of the last and a chronic gastroenteritis (at these diseases it is shown also without development of anemia), pernicious anemias, a pellagra. Drug is appointed for prevention of the folic deficit developing at unbalanced or defective food. Folic acid is inefficient for therapy of aplastic anemia, does not warn neurologic complications (a funicular myelosis etc.).

Route of administration and doses:

Folic acid is accepted inside after food. With the therapeutic purpose the adult appoint 0,001 - 0,002 g of 1 - 3 time a day. A daily dose - to 0,005 g. A course of treatment - 20 - 30 days.

Features of use:

Long reception of folic acid is not recommended (especially in high doses) because of possible decrease in concentration in B12 vitamin blood. At treatment by folic acid of anemias perform systematic blood test.

Side effects:

Folic acid is usually well transferred, but the allergic reactions eliminated by drug withdrawal, decrease in its doses or purpose of antiallergic means are in certain cases possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

Folic acid is applied together with other medicines: at a spra - in combination with ascorbic acid, cyanocobalamine, liver drugs with carrying out a hematotherapy, at pernicious anemia - with cyanocobalamine.

Contraindications:

Allergic reactions to a drug component.
