Tablet Coldrex

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredients: paracetamol of 500 mg, caffeine of 25 mg, Phenylephrinum of a hydrochloride of 5 mg, terpin hydrate of 20 mg, vitamin C (ascorbic acid) of 30 mg.

Excipients: starch soluble, starch corn, talc, stearic acid, povidone, potassium sorbate, sodium lauryl sulfate, dye.

Pharmacological properties:

The tablets "Coldrex" — the combined drug. Paracetamol has anesthetic and febrifugal effect, Phenylephrinum reduces hypostasis of mucous membranes of bosoms of a nose owing to what breath is facilitated, caffeine has all-tonic effect, ascorbic acid (vitamin C) fills the increased need for vitamin C at cold and flu.

Indications to use:

The tablets "Coldrex" provide elimination of symptoms of catarrhal diseases and flu, such as the increased temperature, a headache, a fever, a joint pain and muscles, feeling of a congestion of a nose, pain in bosoms of a nose and in a throat.

Route of administration and doses:

Adults and children are more senior than 12 years: 2 tablets to 4 times a day.

Children (6–12 years): 1 tablet to 4 times a day.

Do not give drug to children up to 6 years without consultation with the doctor.

Drug is not recommended to apply more than five days without consultation with the doctor. If symptoms remain, see a doctor.

Do not exceed the specified dose. In case of overdose, immediately ask for medical care even if you feel well.

Features of use:

Before reception "Coldrex" consult with the attending physician:

• if you accept other medicines,
• if you accept Metoclopramidum, домперидон (the nausea applied to treatment and vomiting) or Colestyraminum (used for decrease in level of cholesterol in blood),
• if you are pregnant or nurse.

In order to avoid toxic damage of a liver paracetamol should not be combined with reception of alcoholic beverages, and also to accept to the persons who are chronically taking alcohol.

Side effects:

In the recommended doses drug usually well is transferred. Paracetamol seldom has side effect. Allergic reactions, for example, skin rash, a small tortoiseshell, a Quincke's disease are sometimes possible. Seldom — disturbances of a picture of blood. At prolonged use with exceeding of the recommended dose action can be observed hepatotoxic and nephrotoxic. A specific antidote at poisoning with paracetamol is Acetylcysteinum.

Phenylephrinum can make sick, a headache, slight increase of arterial pressure and  in rare instances heartbeat which pass after drug withdrawal.

The excess use of tea or coffee during administration of drug "Coldrex" can cause irritability and nervous tension.

Interaction with other medicines:

Drug should not be accepted along with tricyclic antidepressants, beta adrenoblockers, MAO inhibitors and  within 14 days after their cancellation.

The risk of development of a hepatotoxic action increases at a concomitant use of barbiturates, dipheninum, carbamazepine, rifampicin, a zidovudine and other inductors of microsomal enzymes of a liver.

Consult with the attending physician if if you accept Metoclopramidum, домперидон (the nausea applied to treatment and vomiting) or Colestyraminum (used for decrease in level of cholesterol in blood) since Metoclopramidum and домперидон increase paracetamol absorption speed, and Colestyraminum reduces.

Contraindications:

Drug it is not necessary to accept along with others paracetamol - the containing drugs, at hypersensitivity to the ingredients which are a part of drug at genetic absence dehydrogenase glyukozo-6-phosphate, at diseases of system of blood, at heavy abnormal liver functions or kidneys, a thyrotoxicosis, diabetes, arterial hypertension.

Overdose:

Overdose signs — nausea, vomiting, stomach aches, perspiration, pallor of integuments, cardiac arrhythmias. In days two signs of damage of a liver can be defined. In hard cases the liver failure and coma develops. At suspicion of poisoning it is necessary to ask for medical assistance immediately. The victim should make a gastric lavage within the first 4 hours of poisoning and to see a doctor.

Storage conditions:

Period of validity - 4 years. Do not use after the expiry date specified on packaging. To store in the dry place at a temperature not over 25 ºС.Хранить the place, unavailable to children

Packaging:

Tablets. On 4, 5, 6, 8 or 12 tablets in blisters (PVC / aluminum foil). 1 or 2 blisters on 6 or 12 tablets together with  the application instruction are packed into a cardboard box.

 1 or 2 blisters connected together on 5, 6 either 8 tablets or connected together 1 blister or on 4 tablets and 1 blister on 8 tablets are packed into a plastic pack cover (PVC/aluminium) on which the full text of the application instruction approved by MZ Russian Federation is applied.
