Iodinolum

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 100 mg of iodine in 1 bottle.

Excipients: potassium iodide, polyvinyl alcohol, the water purified.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Iodinolum (iodpolyvinylalcohol, iodpolyvinyl alcohol) is a product of accession of molecular (crystal) iodine to polyvinyl alcohol.

Iodinolum малотоксичен. Has antiseptic properties and has bactericidal effect, both on gram-positive, and on gram-negative flora, and also on pathogenic fungi and yeast, is the most active - on streptococcal flora and colibacillus. Stafilokokki are steadier against action of Iodinolum, however at prolonged use in 80% of cases their elimination is observed.

The pyocyanic stick is steady against topical administration of Iodinolum.

Indications to use:

Adenoid disease, purulent otitis, atrophic rhinitis (ozena), purulent surgical infections of skin and soft tissues, trophic and varicose ulcers, thermal and corrosive burns.

Route of administration and doses:

At an adenoid disease washing of lacunas of almonds and supratonsillar space is made. Only 4-5 washings with an interval in 2-3 days. Single dose of 50 ml. At purulent otitises: a daily instillation of 5-8 drops of Iodinolum (in case of a mesotympanitis) or washing of an attic (at attic diseases). Course of treatment 2 - 4 weeks.

At treatment of atrophic rhinitises (ozena) after a preliminary softening and removal of crusts spraying of a nasal cavity and a throat by Iodinolum 2-3 times a week within 2-3 months is made.

At trophic and varicose ulcers previously wash skin with warm water with soap, grease a zone around an ulcer with zinc oxide ointment. The bandage from three layers of a gauze moistened with Iodinolum is applied a surface of an ulcer. Bandagings are carried out 1-2 times a day (in process of decolouration of a bandage), at the same time the gauze lying on an ulcer surface is not removed, and again becomes impregnated with Iodinolum. In 4-7 days after the general or local bathtub the specified treatment continues.

At purulent wounds and the infected burns the friable gauze bandage impregnated with medicine and replaced periodically, as required is applied. Wound cavities are washed out by Iodinolum then it is entered into a cavity on a tampon.

At purulent fistulas of various etiology (postoperative fistulas, chronic osteomyelitis, etc.) with existence of the wide fistular course daily washing of the fistular course by Iodinolum, with the subsequent introduction for days of a tampon with Iodinolum is made. In the presence of the narrow fistular course - washing is carried out by means of a catheter by 1-2 times a day. At fresh thermal and corrosive burns of I and II degrees after preprocessing the yodinolovy gauze bandage which inside layer is as required irrigated with a fresh portion of medicine is applied.

Features of use:

At persons with a renal and liver failure, and also at persons 70 years Iodinolum are aged more senior it is necessary to apply with extra care under control of function of a thyroid gland (1 times in 2 weeks).

Use during pregnancy or feeding by a breast. Regular use of Iodinolum during more than 5 days as even at cutaneous use iodine comes to blood is not recommended, gets through a placental barrier and cosecretes in breast milk. Use of medicine is possible only in that case when the expected advantage for mother exceeds potential risk for a fruit and the child.

Influence on laboratory indicators. Against the background of treatment by Iodinolum obtaining false results of determination of level of thyroid hormones and squirrels - the connected iodine in a blood plasma is possible.

Influence on ability to driving of motor transport and to control of mechanisms. Now there are no data that Iodinolum influences ability to driving of motor transport and control of mechanisms.

Side effects:

At persons with an idiosyncrasy to iodine the iodism phenomena in the form of skin rashes or rhinitis, an itch and irritation mucous can be observed that does not demand any special measures or the termination of treatment.

From a thyroid gland: craw, hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism.

Metabolic acidosis, hypernatremia and renal failure (when drawing on the big square mucous or at persons with extensive burns).

Interaction with other medicines:

Medicine is not compatible to the disinfectants containing compounds of mercury, pharmaceutical is incompatible with essential oils, ammonia solutions, antiseptic agents from group of alkalis and oksilitel. Changes efficiency of the medicines influencing function of a thyroid gland.

Iodinolum can be combined with physiotherapeutic treatment, and in necessary cases with antibiotics. Absorption of iodine from Iodinolum can influence functions of a thyroid gland.

Alkaline or acid medium, presence of fat, pus, blood weaken antiseptic activity.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to iodine, diseases of a thyroid gland (a nodal craw a colloid, local craw and Hashimoto's thyroiditis), herpetiform dermatitis of Dyuringa, simultaneous therapy by a radioiodine, children's age up to 6 years (experience of use is absent).

Overdose:

The acute overdose arises at accidental or deliberate use of Iodinolum inside. Is followed by iodism symptoms – the metal smack in a mouth increased by salivation, burning or a pharyngalgia and in a mouth, irritation of eyes and hypostasis a century, breath difficulty (fluid lungs), skin reactions, gastrointestinal frustration (vomiting, enterospasms and diarrhea). The metabolic acidosis, a hypernatremia, a renal failure can develop.

Treatment: symptomatic. Control of electrolytic balance, function of kidneys and a thyroid gland, a maintenance therapy is necessary. A specific antidote – sodium chloride of 10,0-15,0 g/days with water (for elimination acceleration iodide ions).

Storage conditions:

In the place protected from light, at a temperature not below 0 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children. A period of validity - 3 years. Not to use medicine after the termination of a period of validity.
