Ринопронт

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredients: Karbinoksamina maleate of 4.0 mg; Fenilefrina hydrochloride of 20.0 mg;

Excipients: Sucrose, corn starch, eydragit RS 100, diethyl phthalate, triglycerides with an average length of a chain, talc, an indigo carmine (Е 132), iron oxide yellow (Е 172), titanium dioxide (Е 171), gelatin.

Pharmacological properties:

The combined drug for system use at diseases of ENT organs. Fenilefrin (a-adrenomimetik) has vasoconstrictive effect that leads to reduction of hypostasis and a hyperemia of mucous membranes of upper respiratory tracts and adnexal bosoms. Karbinoksamin has antihistaminic effect, has moderately expressed cholinolytic activity. Ринопронт on 10-12 h eliminates rhinitis symptoms, burning sensation in eyes and weight in the head.

Indications to use:

Symptomatic treatment of rhinitis of various genesis (infectious and inflammatory, allergic, vasculomotor); sinusitis; hay fever.

Route of administration and doses:

Inside.
If it is not offered differently, then the recommended doses following.
To adults and teenagers 12 years - on 1 capsule twice a day are more senior (in the morning and in the evening).
Capsules should be swallowed entirely, without chewing and washing down with liquid.
Long administration of drug (within 2-3 weeks) only according to the recommendation of the doctor.

Features of use:

It is necessary to show care at patients with heavy organic heart diseases and vessels, and also cardiac arrhythmia: in this case Rinopront's dose should be selected individually. Patients with diseases of a thyroid gland, a diabetes mellitus or arterial hypertension can apply Rinopront only under observation of the doctor.

With care the patients who are engaged in potentially dangerous types of activity requiring special attention and speed of psychomotor reactions should appoint drug.

Side effects:

From digestive tract
Dispepsichesky frustration: nausea, vomiting, heartburn and loss of appetite.

From the central nervous system
In rare instances perhaps fatigue, dizziness, feeling of weakness, a sleep disorder, the increased nervous irritability, psychomotor excitement, a tremor, a headache, an acute disorder of cerebral circulation.

From cardiovascular system
Occasionally there can be heartbeat, arrhythmia, pains in heart, arterial hypertension.

Allergic reactions
Small tortoiseshell and other skin allergic reactions.

From other bodies and systems
Dryness in a mouth, a nose and a throat. In rare instances vision disorders or provoking of developing of closed-angle glaucoma, disturbance of an urination can be noted. Very seldom - changes in a blood picture (thrombocytopenia, a leukopenia, an agranulocytosis).

Interaction with other medicines:

At simultaneous use of Rinopront strengthens action of the means oppressing the central nervous system such as alcohol, anxiolytics, sedative and hypnagogues. The concomitant use of a guanetidin can exponentiate sympathomimetic (i.e. vasoconstrictive) effect of drug.

Contraindications:

Thyrotoxicosis, pheochromocytoma, closed-angle glaucoma, prostate adenoma with formation of a residual urine, arterial hypertension, a concomitant use of MAO inhibitors, hypersensitivity to drug components.
Children's age up to 12 years.

Pregnancy and lactation
Ринопронт has no embriotoksichesky effect. However it is impossible to exclude emergence of system side effects at the child during feeding by a breast. During pregnancy and a lactation it is only necessary to appoint drug when the estimated advantage for mother exceeds potential risk for a fruit or the child.

Overdose:

At babies and elderly patients in case of overdose the condition of psychomotor excitement can develop.

In similar cases it is necessary to consult immediately with the doctor who if necessary will take the appropriate measures:

Patients with symptoms of acute overdose are recommended to carry out a gastric lavage. Besides, if there were side reactions connected with sympathomimetic effect of drug it is necessary to accept sympatholytic drugs, and to patients with spasms enter diazepam or into barbiturates of short action. At paralysis of breath the intubation and artificial ventilation of the lungs is made.

Storage conditions:

To store in the dry place at a temperature not above 25 °C.
To store medicine in the places unavailable to children!
