General characteristics. Structure:
Active agent: 30 mg; 15 mg; 60 mg of Ambroxol of a hydrochloride.
Pharmacological properties:
Ambroxol, effective metabolite of Bromhexine, has sekretolitichesky and at the same time sekretomotorny effect by direct stimulation of activity of cilia, increases production of pulmonary surfactant, inactivates free oxygen radicals, increases penetration of some antibiotics into pulmonary fabric, reduces hyperreactivity of bronchial tubes.
Indications to use:
Mucolytic therapy of the acute and chronic bronchopulmonary diseases accompanied with disturbance of development of a bronchial secret and confidential transport (inflammatory and infectious diseases of upper and lower respiratory tracts), inflammatory diseases of a nasopharynx.
Route of administration and doses:
• Adults and children aged since 12 years: 1 tablet 3 р / days. The therapeutic effect can be strengthened reception of 2 tablets 2 р / days.
• Children's age of 5-12 years: ½ tablets 2-3 р / days.
Pill should be taken after meal, washing down with enough water. Reception of liquid increases mucolytic effect of Ambroxol.
Features of use:
With extra care it is necessary to apply at patients with a renal failure or heavy disturbance of a liver. During pregnancy it is recommended to follow the general Regulations of Admission of drugs; especially in the first trimester it is not recommended to accept the drugs containing Ambroxol. Ambroxol is removed with breast milk therefore administration of drug during feeding by a breast is not recommended.
Side effects:
As a rule, Ambrosan is well had, in some cases can be observed: heartburn, lack of appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, allergic reaction in the form of skin rash, headaches.
Interaction with other medicines:
The concomitant use with the drugs suppressing cough can cause dangerous accumulation of a secret in bronchial tubes. The concomitant use of Ambroxol and antibiotics (amoxicillin, tsefuroksy, erythromycin) leads to increase in concentration of antibiotics in a bronchial and pulmonary secret and in a phlegm. This effect can be used as medical.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to active ingredient, any excipient of drug, an aggravation of a peptic ulcer of a GIT.
Overdose:
There are no data on overdose.
Storage conditions:
At a temperature not above 25 °C.
