General characteristics. Structure:
Active ingredient – an acyclovir of 5,0 g.
Excipients – the Component of lipidic bird's fat - Lipokomp With, a macrogoal 400 (poly(ethylene oxide) 400), emulsifier No. 1 (cetostearyl alcohol – ланетт SX), methylparahydroxybenzoate (нипагин), пропилпарагидроксибензоат (нипазол), the water purified to 100 g.
Description: Homogeneous ointment from color, white to white with a yellowish shade.
Pharmacological properties:
Pharmacodynamics. The acyclovir is active concerning Herpes simplex 1 and 2 of types, the Varicella zoster virus, Epstein's virus Barre and cytomegaloviruses. The thymidinekinase of the cells infected with a virus through a number of consecutive reactions actively will transform an acyclovir to mono - di - and acyclovir triphosphate. The last interacts with a virus DNA polymerase and is built in DNA which is synthesized for new viruses. Thus, "defective" virus DNA forms that leads to suppression of replication of new generations of viruses.
Pharmakokinetik. At local use it is practically not soaked up through the injured skin, does not get to a system blood stream.
Indications to use:
The infections of skin and mucous membranes caused by the Herpes simplex virus of types 1 and 2, genital herpes, shingles, chicken pox.
Route of administration and doses:
Outwardly. Drug is applied by 5 times a day (each 4 hours) with a thin layer on the sites of skin struck and adjoining on them. Ointment is applied either a cotton plug, or clean hands to avoid additional infection of affected areas. Therapy should be continued till that time while on bubbles the crust is not formed or until they completely begin to live. Duration of therapy averages 5 days and should not exceed 10 days.
Features of use:
For achievement of the maximum therapeutic effect it is necessary to begin to use drug as soon as possible after the beginning of an infection (at the first symptoms of a disease: burning, itch, pricking, feeling of tension and reddening).
Ointment is not recommended to be applied on mucous membranes of an oral cavity and eyes as development of the expressed local inflammation is possible. At treatment of genital herpes it is necessary to avoid sexual contacts or to use condoms as use of an acyclovir does not prevent transfer of a virus to partners.
Side effects:
Hyperemia, dryness, skin peeling; burning, an inflammation at hit on mucous membranes. Development of allergic dermatitis is possible.
Interaction with other medicines:
At external use interaction with other medicines is not revealed.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to an acyclovir and other components of drug.
With care – pregnancy, the lactation period, dehydration, a renal failure.
Pregnancy and period of a lactation
Adequate and controlled clinical trials of safety of use of drug during pregnancy were not conducted. Use is shown only when the estimated advantage for mother exceeds potential risk for a fruit.
During treatment it is necessary to resolve an issue of the breastfeeding termination.
Storage conditions:
To store in the dry, protected from light place at a temperature from 12 °Сдо 15 °C.
To store in the place, unavailable to children.
Period of validity 2 years. Not to use after the period of validity specified on packaging.

Ointment for external use of 5%. On 5, 10, 15 and 30 g in tubas aluminum. Each tuba together with the application instruction is placed in a pack from a cardboard.
