General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: macrogol;

1 package contains polyethyleneglycol 4000 (a macrogoal 4000) – 64 g;

excipients: sodium sulfate anhydrous, Natrii hydrocarbonas, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium saccharin.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. By formation of hydrogen bindings with water molecules the macrogoal holds it in intestines. Water liquefies and increases intestines contents on all its length. After that drug is completely evacuated from intestines together with its contents. Effect of drug, as a rule, begins in 1-1,5 hours and 2-5 hours last. If Diagnol accept twice, emptying of a gut at repeated reception begins in 20-30 minutes in the morning.

Pharmacokinetics. Drug is not soaked up and not metabolized. It is brought out of an organism in not changed state with a stake.

Pharmaceutical characteristics.

Main physical and chemical properties: powder of white or almost white color.

Indications to use:

Preparation of intestines for holding diagnostic procedures (endoscopic and X-ray inspections) and surgical interventions on intestines.

Route of administration and doses:

Drug is used to adults and children 15 years are more senior. Dosing is defined at the rate of 1 liter of solution on 15-20 kg of body weight. Contents of each package are dissolved in 1 liter of water. The amount of solution, usually necessary for the procedure, makes 3-4 liters. Solution is accepted in the evening if the procedure is appointed to morning or during the day, but so that administration of drug was finished in three hours prior to holding a procedure. One glass of solution is recommended to be drunk for 15 minutes. For an hour it is necessary to drink 1 liter of solution.

Features of use:

Diagnol's use during pregnancy and feeding by a breast perhaps only when the expected advantage for mother exceeds potential risk for a fruit or the child.

Children.

 

Drug is not used to children aged up to 15 years.

Features of use.

 

Elderly people are recommended to use drug under observation of the doctor.

Diagnol does not contain sugar therefore it is possible to appoint it a sick diabetes mellitus, and also to persons whose of diet the galactose is excluded.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of motor transport or work with other mechanisms. There are no special cautions.

Side effects:

At the beginning of reception nausea and vomiting, a meteorism which disappear over time is sometimes observed. Sometimes there is a feeling of abdominal distention. Allergic skin reactions (rash, urticaria), hypostases are seldom observed.

Interaction with other medicines:

Slows down absorption from intestines of drugs which are appointed at the same time.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Organism dehydration, heavy heart failure; the intestines diseases which are followed by injury of a mucous membrane (a carcinoma, a disease Krone, nonspecific ulcer colitis); intestinal impassability.

Overdose:

Diarrhea. Symptomatic treatment.

Storage conditions:

To store at a temperature not above 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children. Period of storage. 2 years. Not to use drug after the termination of the period of validity specified on packaging.
